Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Get even by stopping the Time Warner debacle!

Don't just sit there upset and whining over AT&T and that idiot Randall. Hit them where it hurts...the money. Call or write your local and state representatives and express your misgivings with this monopolistic raw deal. Just imagine Randy's smug face if it falls through. Priceless!

You boys calm down. Yes, people are selfish and maybe our generation exceptionally so but remember that the baby boomer generation came of age when the standard of living was higher. We had fewer gadgets but many working people earned enough to support families. Not today, too much goes to Randy and his buddies, a sad time for working families and the country.

Son, remember that someday you will get old and the next generation will be biting at your heels.

Honey, take it easy on the boy, he rightfully feels like his generation is getting the short end of the stick.

We are all in this together, at least the 98% who are honest and work for a living.

Love,

Mom

Hi Dad,

Thanks for providing more evidence that you and your generation are indeed spoiled rotten narcissists. We'll all be better off when you're all gone which will be soon. Lucky us!

Thanks,

Your Son

P.S. The Beatles really s---.

Hi Son,

Yes, you will get nothing of the substantial inheritance as I'm spending all my $$. Earn it like I did. Deal with it.

And from what experience do you speak. Do you understand that although fiber and wireless services have replaced majority of the network the same lines that used to facilitate pots services currently facilitate the Internet services at peoples homes. In most cases the last mile or two of most AT&T's Internet circuits use the same copper lines that used to service the Dial-tone.

Take a landline from a boomer and watch them cry. Sorry don't do that most of them need it for their life alert systems. "I've fallen and I can't get up."

Sincerely to the person that has retired why are you even on this forum? If you have no stake or claim in the company why are you even on this website commenting? If it has nothing to do with you it would be greatly appreciated if you would mind your own business. I suggest you to start crocheting, go to Old country buffet , bingo or whatever it is that aged individuals find enjoyable today while basking in the glow of their retirement. Do something more constructive with your time other than interjecting yourself into a conversation about a company that you yourself have claimed you have no personal stake or ties in.

My view is that TW is overpriced. I wish AT&T was buying a next generation business. People don't want bundled television with a hundred stations. They want ala-carte with about 20 stations. I don't see traditional business thriving with that consumer mindset.

I doubt anyone will notice anything when TW deal closes, except corporate functions. Normal flushes will continue until further notice,,,,,sometime after 2015.......

You seem jealous. I knew who wrote the checks. The better they did, the better I did.

I have no need to go back after my lump sum pension (markets are doing well), 401K (markets are doing well), paid off 2400 sq. ft. house, 2 new '17 vehicles and a cabin on 80 acres. And no desire or need to work at 56.

Run 'em out of business!!!!

But ask yourself...would you hire you with that attitude?

And no, i was never in management, but an outside tech.

Good luck!!!

You people are out of touch. Wishing the folks who sign your check ill will may be a self fulfilling prophecy.

I worked for 37 years, and often didn't like corporate decisions. But the checks cleared and I was able to retire. Wishing for the company to fail in an endeavor or hoping for their demise is of no benefit to you. And no detriment to me, as I cashed out.

And don't think they don't know who you are.

Wise up.

The merger is not a good deal as it is a chasing the money ideology. ATT wants to control much as they can because they cannot get revenue any other way. It is a good idea to stop this as if they do acquire tw, They will try to become a monopoly yet again and will not be in the best interest of the employees but rather, the executives and the shareholders. If they get this control, they will be able to control what to charges customers and myself being in mobility, the market is at a saturation point. they need to become innovative.

Randy, the board, current leadership and on down the line can’t manage the current business much less adding TW. I have a great idea for all of them. Read the employee surveys, a good sampling not purged by HR. AT&Ts AVP and Director level are a complete joke. Won’t comment on above AVP because I don’t have enough interaction to make a fair assessment, but will guess it’s a culture all the way up. Until you understand the poor morale and fix it, it won’t mater what companies you buy. Your customers are leaving and when you talk about finances , what a joke. The waste is astonishing! Wake up and make a difference from the top of the hierarchy or continue the downward spiral.

How someone can be productive worung here, for the last 10 years gross mismanagement, negligence incompetence is rampart here, People should worry about doing their jobs , Not losing their jobs everyday, and to be treated with respect, something that was lost long ago, if merger is approved more people will lose their jobs for the combined count, I do not see how that would benefit the worker

The TW deal is bad news for consumers.

What is the impact on the company workers if it does not go through?

Just speculating, say the deal falls through, Randy takes the gold parachute and they put Stankey in charge or bring someone else in? At this point does this shell of a company just fall apart faster than it would if the TW deal went through? Randy has managed this company in to a pretty deep hole.
