Uncle Randys surplus will resume 3rd quarter, Deg will be reduced over nine state region. CWA Union is powerless.
You can be assured the union is in lock-step with the company on any and all surpluses that impact union represented people. Without some particular contract language, the union will just sit and support where needed. They sure can't save anyone's job. elimination is elimination.
This is because Randy is waiting for the merger to be approved,since layoffs news would not be good for him at this time funny that previous post does not realize that, he must be an union member, no comment
The membership get to vote on who is the president of a union local. He doesn't control the membership - the membership controls whether he is president or not, by their vote.
As far as surpluses are concerned, I don't remember a surplus being this small for several years. There are about 140,000 represented employees? And I haven't heard anything other than this 130, many of who, thanks to their union contract will be eligible for a guaranteed job offer. Some others are going to be retirement eligible who will be only too happy to retire with a sizable severance check to boot.
But, continue in your parallel reality.
Maybe this local union is as useless as the one before, e.g. our union president did not finish high school, he can even write a nemo , yet he controls the membership , very sad... the blind sheep followin the blind union to the cliff 😄
I think there are a few anti-union trolls, who don't work at AT&T posting here. Of course the union knows. The company usually has a union steward present at the announcement.
That’s odd because the company has to notify the union with a list of location job title affect number of surplused and who is affected, at least in the SW
