Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is there a better option?

I was thinking of quitting, but one look around this board made me have second thoughts. Just look at Verizon's sub-forum, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Are there greener pastures out there, or is it all pretty much the same and I should just s--- it up and stay where I am for as long as I have a job?

put your money down and take your chances, it is less stressful though if single and not supporting a family

The job market is hot. Update your resume and apply! Worst case, it's good practice for when you need to find a job. Always keep your resume current and apply for jobs you are interested in, constantly, even if you do not plan to leave. Great practice and keeps you confident of what to do when the ax falls.

Forget telecom, if you can leverage support for IT / operations, in many wasys, Banks, financial institutions, healthcare, I know I did, & doing well

A lot of technicians in my garage are struggling with the same thing. We want to leave, I have decided I am going to no future here. Best thing you can do update your resume and apply. What's the worst that can happen?
