For all those who think they will be better off or get a better job, you are in for a massive wake up call. Why do you think layoffs are happening in the first place? Because everything is so rosy and wonderful in the economy that companies are axing people left and right?
Yeah, i know the talking head on TV told you "Everything is WONDERFUL!" and you believed it cause it's on TV. Well, go get laid off and you will discover just how "Wonderful" it really isn't...
Verizon pays well & the benefits are decent. However, Money isn’t everything when you’re not happy & have no peace with it. Verizon Wireless knows EXACTLY what they are doing & EXACTLY how to make people RIF themselves.
Quotas are unrealistic. KPIs are toooooooo many. No one can make the money they used to. Greed has become Verizon in a very short time because of several bad deals that have taken place (HUM for example). People are simply unhappy & don’t think for 1 second they don’t know. They do & they are betting on you quitting. PRESSURE!!!!
There IS indeed better out there & it can be attained. Verizon has lost it & TMo & Sprint are coming for them!!!
As will all of the 3rd party dealers that sell VZ’s products & services.
Keep Pushing for better. There is LIFE, FREEDOM, STRESS FREE Living after Verizon Wireless! :)
They are replacing you with Bots aka Siri, Cortana, Alexa etc etc that are low maintenance and dont need food, just need oil change.

I started my new job right after I accepted my severance and even though not looking I constantly get job offers.
Huh? I just got a job offer... stable hours, good pay, and respect. It can be wonderland if you actually put in effort to look. Luckily I started the process months ago and had choices of where I wanted to go. I wish everyone good luck.

Its been a good ride looking for a RIF.....times have changed its all about the stock price now and how the execs get compensated...that's most public companies now are in the same boat

I don’t have the energy to look for another job reporting to this place every day. If I get severance and unemployment I’d be golden.
