If you are still out there thinking the union is going to fight to get you a "deal" you are delusional.

Serious question here. If the company no longer needs us Midwest/Legacy T union workers and the contract has come to an end then why doesn’t the company just lock us out/terminate employment and walk away?

OK Union leadership is more in bed with the company, than the members. Talk strike all you want, that just saves the company payroll for those days, and does not change the mind of those working on the contract. Terms are terms. The company will not be impacted one bit by a strike. Workers lose pay those days and hope it doesn't roll over end of the month and they lose healthcare. I can't remember any union strike in any industry that has had impact on any company in years. Even the VZ strike didn't make the company roll over to union demands. Let's see in 10 years, copper will only be the last 1000 Ft of the network, and as planned 3/4 current employee base will be gone.

Toolbelts? Managers?? There won't be a strike... the company isn't even worried about it..loads the same.. dont have to turn in keys or ipads... the contracts basically signed sealed and delivered...and we got f---ed again. Jumpship

I remember when our union walked. For months they told us that they were going to do it and how we would be screwed over. When they finally did, I welcomed the chance to fix a lot of the problems we had with the systems without obstruction of the union members. What used to take 150 people to do, we did it with less then 25. Not only did we do it, we did it better. I remember the looks on the faces of the same guys that used to tell me that we were screwed when the cam back into the plant and found out that gee, the engineers that designed the system did know something about them. Some of the older and smarter union members tried to tell the younger hotheads that things wouldn't fall part if they walked off, but the kids wouldn't listen and the union was never the same after that.

Not all of your managers are idiots, the vast majority will be older senior union workers who have moved up into management, or engineers who know how the stuff is supposed to work.

Remember there are a whole bunch of people who are called managers but do not management and have no direct reports. Just more smoke and mirrors by Randy to screw the union workers and force people to work as scabs.

The managers who cross the picket line will not be able to do the work in any effective way but then T customers have very low expectations of the company already.

"Remember the managers are forced to do the work" is putting it mildly. EVERY communiction we've gotten from AT&T on training and strike assignments has started with an explicit threat to fire anyone who fails to comply. So don't think a lot of us are going to be busting our butts to get anything done after the way we've been treated.

Blah blah blah, it will never happen. 3 days at most. And only after a year of working without a contract. Get real. Same story every time.

Strike is inevitable. Hope everyone has there financial affairs in order. I think it may be a long one. Maybe not at 12:01 a.m. April 14 but soon. Let’s be ready, let’s be united. We can’t do this as individuals but together we certainly can.

You might be correct we all might be walked out by the year 2020 but you forget one thing no employees Will result in a significant reduction in managers as well therefore we will be standing in the unemployment line with you hopefully you will show yourself and give us that smart comment in person 😂

What a joke. The union will continue telling you lies, then sell you out, buisness as usual. Morons with high school educations "negotiating" with professionals. Doesn't really matter since you will all be fired by the end of the contract.

The company will give them a 1K signing bonus with minimal changes to the contract. The vote will be YES. Keep paying your union dues sheep.

We are not worried.

First you will work without a contract.

Then your bargaining team will roll over on something to get a deal going.

And then all of you will roll over and vote the contract in.

Lots of big talk but no action.

You will all be walked out by 2020 anyways.

I was craft (install & maintenance tech) a long time ago and if they sent us to school we could probably do 1-2 cases of trouble a day, and that is only for the managers who were actually techs at one time. I am also talking about easy cases of trouble at that i.e. LST's, aerial drops, x-conns etc. I know I wouldn't want to go back outside since I'm older and just don't want to do it. So if that person said that a manager could do the work of 12 techs he/she was either kidding or just has never worked outside. Just my opinion.

I think it was a typo, what he meant to say was the manager will eat as much lunch as 12 people who actually work for a living.

To the guy who said managers will do the work of 12 of us and do it better, a large portion of us ARE READY to give them the opportunity to try.

T needs to step up and get serious at the bargaining table. After record profits, a huge tax winfall and layoffs right before Christmas after randy promised to create frontline jobs T is only shooting their selves in the foot by trying to gut our contract.

There won't be a strike unless the bargaining breaks down, and they reach what is called an "impasse". At least not next week. And I don't see a lockout either. That goes for Legacy T and Midwest.

This will carry on for at least a couple of weeks before bargaining breaks down.

36 years. of service. 4 or 5 strikes. Managers are in management because they couldn't do the work or didn't want to or too old to. Many have never worked outside. That's why they drive 2 or 3 to a car (yes a car with no ladders) to jobs. I've no beef with them, for they are doing what we do and trying to provide for our families. But 95% of have idea what to do, nor the desire to do so.

TO THE PERSON BELOW ME :

That’s hilarious, one manager will do the job of a dozen technicians, you must be a manager , cause I know my manager wouldnt haven’t any idea where to start!

Second, last time I check technicians are apart of the ibew or cwa , not laborers that a totally different Union ,

And finally , I would love to see these manager use wfe, translor, Lfacs, bbmns, I mean it was wishful thinking when you said they could do the job of a Dozen technician but thanks I need a good laugh today

I imagine that one manager will be able to take the place of a a dozen union laborers and do a better job in the process. I have seen it before and unions should get a clue.

Don’t worry, there’s a highly trained “reserve” workforce waiting to step in.

It’ll only take x numbers of managers all day to complete that 2 circuit line station transfer to convert the one customer on their order to bonded service. And hopefully no pair or port changes are needed.

Not to mention the other umpteenth amount of steps needed to complete just one ticket at times.

What locals & when does the contract expire? Managers are in the dark about who to watch. Last contract was signed and we were never told. I think this was for black book.
