How many are in club pick up at your location?

And what hours do they work?

Club pick up associates at my club are worthless. Pallets stacked like pyramids with heavy items on top. Shrink wrap so loose it's like a magnum condom on a micro pe--s

Changing an associateso schedule without their express permission should be ...1st offense a warning, 2nd a write up, 3rd disciplinary action up to and including termination. Any changes must be discussed and agreed to by associate and management.

4-12:30 with weekends off was what Audit had, was it not? All I can say about this is that you must remember that this can change so enjoy it while you have it.

A bigger issue I think needs to be brought up is that of changing schedules from day to day. Not only doing that but holding your employees responsible for not “meeting” these changes and/or docking their hours. How can you expect your employees to give two/three weeks requesting time off but yet expect them to change their plans day to day without even letting them know these changes were made? And no accountability to the managers who are doing this.

Sorry, but I think Sam’s would be more successful if more schedules were “set” schedules. Sam’s has bigger issues than set schedules, trust me, things are bad and getting worse with managers changing schedules day to day. Good luck keeping the good people but truth be told most of the good people are already gone and the ones that are still here are here because they have...wait for it...set schedules.

Humm another set schedule 4-12:30 this is why we continue to not be successful, entitlement of working no weekends.

The problem I see most Clubs having with Club Pick Up is that they are treating it like it was before there was all of this focus on Club Pick Up as there is now. The more you put into Club Pick Up and filling those orders you will have more orders come in. However if you only pull for that day you are not going to be able to get and fill as many orders as you are only pulling from day to day. If you have more people pulling orders more orders will come in. You are getting what you put into Club Pick Up and from the sounds of things some clubs are doing just that while other clubs are going from day to day and happy with that (while some clubs are lucky to even get done with their day to day picks.)

I keep hearing about Clubs that are having the Membership team “float” over to Club Pick Up and Club Pick Up “floating” over to Membership when someone calls off or not enough people are scheduled. So this huge focus on Club Pick Up is not really a focus at all and sad really as Club Pick Up can really help a store out in terms of sells and member satisfaction IF the focus is on Club Pick Up...which it sounds like many are not.

I have heard of some Clubs that have a overnight person on Club Pick Up and wonder why more stores do not do this as well? From speaking with some people in Club Pick Up and hearing what other clubs have said trying to do Club Pick Up when memebers are in the club is getting to be a nightmare. Weekends is really where things get hard as that is where clubs see a huge number of members and working your way through your club and trying to fill orders, answer members questions and finding more and more items not accessible only make it more difficult. Just surprised that more clubs have not went with the option of a overnight Club Pick Up person on top of the people they already have.

Another issue I keep hearing about is that of the lack of room. Want to see bigger numbers on your Club Pick Up orders you will need a place to put them. From my understanding this is a issue with not only Sam’s but Walmart as well. But I can only speak for Sam’s Club and wonder if in some stores they are not set up to succeed but to do the Club Pick Up orders from day to day which will hamper and stall the number of Club Pick Up orders. This is working against everything they want Club Pick Up to be and/or become and in truth is working against the very thing they hope to accomplish with Club Pick Up.

What are your thoughts? What have you seen in your club? What have you heard from your Club Pick Up people? Another huge issue that I have heard is that of the lack of communication. Not a surprise as it seems that this is club wide and not just a Club Pick Up issue.

I’m in Club Pick-Up. I work Monday through Friday 4a-12:30p.

There is also 1 other person who is part time and their hours vary, but are afternoon hours.
