I have finally become pension eligible. The question is, should I wait for an EISP, or just leave without one? I'm not sure how long I can wait.

Your doing it ALL wrong Sir.... You NEED to become a Buisness Agent in your Local Union ... This way you can get paid to be OFF THE LOAD .. Sit in the Union Hall and collect TWO Checks one from verizon and one from your local ..... Pop in the Hall for a quick 2 hour show of face... disapear with your mistress from the remainder of the day till you have to go home to yuour wife... WHY RETIRE AT THAT POIINT > You will be just like ALL the othe r good ole BOYS from the HAll and youll get at least another 10 more years of milking the company and your fellow union members .... GOOD JOB

Wait and if you are planning on working elsewhere now is your time to find that job, if you plan to retire work, get any debt paid off, get your savings account built up, have your finance guy working on your plan and when the layoff comes take the money and enjoy
Ride the wave bud, don't stress out. Because you can leave when ever you want, change your attitude to a positive stress free one. IE.. If it doesn't get done....it doesn't get done...Bank everything
Stay awhile, if you have made your retirement, take it easy and don't jump out too quick.

Wait......I'm hearing the next package is going to be huge, like mega huge, like whoa step back huge, like if it were any huge'r it could be seen from space huge. We are talking the next EISP is H--as in help me carry this it's too huge....U--as in are you serious this is huge.....G--as in gee do I get all this Huge....and E--as in Everybody step back this is huge.
