Thread regarding Follett layoffs

This is ridiculous

I don't know if other companies operate the same way, but the powers on high are the most incompetent boobs to ever soil the retail industry. They are absolutely clueless when it comes to running a bookstore in today's industry. And yes, they are so blind when it comes to harvesting talent. I have seen excellent, top notch managers, get sh-- on, while people who are in way over their heads (and have the horrible results to prove it) are looked upon as golden children. When I see the respect the RMs and GVPs give these incompetent morons, all I can do is shake my head in amazement.

Exactly what @RZOoEQg-3kcb said. It is ridiculous how much good workers are ignored here on account of completely useless a--holes. It's like those on top are trying to run the company into the ground...

Despite the agressive words, the first reponse is reasonable. follett is a duplicitous organization. It is within the company culture to tell employees they're growing the company while they're paring it down. It's likely that they're being paid to shut down or spin off divisions to maximize shareholder value.

If that is true, you've already lost your job. You come to work expecting that if you achieve results you'll be rewarded. Sr Management also comes to work expecting to be rewarded in exchange for achieving results. Your results are ameasured by sales numbers. They're results may be measured in freeing up capital so it can be invested at a higher return rate than the company can provide. If that's true, you're working at cross purposes.

If you've survived the cuts, you owe to yourself to get out now. follett may be plotting your demise. They won't pay you for loyalty. It's not in their interest.

It's ignorant to call out the fact that corporate leadership's priority is incompatible with building a strong company? Wow, you are a douche. You must be one of those leaders m nice try, PC. Haha
