Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Anybody knows how the suit is going?

It's been over a month since AT&T was sued for layoffs after promising more investments, and I can't find any news on the suit. Anybody knows what's going on? Will something come out of it or was that just another empty gesture?

I truly believe all of the companies that are doing layoffs after the tax cuts should be made to pay in some way, but it looks like that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Does T also have one of those employment provisions that says employees cannot sue but must instead do arbitration?

This gives T much leverage in resolving problems and is supposed to prevent people from suing.

Also, I wonder if they try to impose this on people who were hired before they started to shove the mandatory arbitration down peoples throats?

We’re you dropped on your head as a child? Since when does promising more investment mean no layoffs. The direction the company is being taking has been in the works for a very long time. Any additional investment will go towards the new jobs that are coming not saving the obsolete ones. Also, contract negotiations that took place over the last few years were done with these layoffs in mind and no legal action will make any difference and is just being taken for show. The CWA just wants you to think they care.
