With the rumors of Team Lead positions going away and APM's going away, what about the APA? They're on the same paygrade as the TLs.

Without APMs, one would assume there will be a greater need for APAs. Especially in a club such as mine that lost over one a million in shrink LY. If you are in a high shrink club and the shrink is largely caused by theft then you are most likely going to be safe. Keep making stops and entering in APIS...
Most clubs didn’t even have hourly AP. If you still do it is surely going away since the company does not care about shrink and damage numbers.
The apms in my area are now over groceries and compliance. Not sure about the asset protection part past compliance.
As a current APA, I have no answers and have the same questions. When I find something out that is concrete, I will contribute.
The APM position has been cut. However this doesn't mean that the person holding that job is gone. Some are being offered other management positions, and others are being displaced. As far as the hourly APA positions that are still around I don't know.
The question is not about the APM! The question is about the HOURLY AP ASSOCIATE. You know, the people who actually stop thieves?

Some AP LET go in our area! Possibly just so they can be replaced by another displaced manager. But have also heard they are going to make it where one APM is over a group of clubs ..3-5...instead of just one. So that means some ARE being cut!
APM is staying just groceries and consumables added to there responsibilities.
