Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

"ALL FOR ONE.......ONE FOR ALL!"

"Workers Unions" are just that. Workers United to have one HUGE voice. When management is picking on someone to get rid of them, the worker just has to file a formal grievance with their Union representative, who is at your beckon call, and will show up with your Union attorney to investigate, and your club managers have to provide legitimate proof as to why you were coached or reprimanded/cut hours...etc...etc....And for like $5 a paycheck? We spend more than that on scratch Lotto Tickets hoping to hit it big instead of investing it on job insurance. Just like your car insurance, you do not plan on crashing any day, but you have that reassurance that if you were to, you know that help will be on the way. The changing of our raises from monetary levels to percentages, and everyone gets a trophy mentality, would not have happened without "OUR UNIFIED" permission. And if we do not like something unanimously we can all "STAND UP" and protest and we will be backed by our tens of thousands Brothers and Sisters in arms across this Great Nation. The company will humbly come to the negotiations table to make sure we do not walk out so they do not lose "MILLIONS" of dollars per region daily. Our hard work, our blood, sweat, and tears makes this company "BILLIONS" of dollars on a yearly basis. You would think that they could staff it properly, train the newbies properly, which in turn can become better managers in the long run. Instead of the sink or swim mentality. They have proven they do not care to, so, that is where we "ALL" have the constitutional right to "UNITE" and "STAND UP" and demand respect for the worker. It is up to us to rally our Co-Workers. The Managers will not benefit from Unionizing. So keep it between you and your co-workers. Have meetings with your Local Union Representatives at their offices. Walmart and Sam's Club fear a Unionized workforce. Only because then they would "HAVE TO" give us the respect and pay our hard work deserves. Remember the long nights, the short days off, getting called in, filling in other departments to save the day for your Team, giving up your weekends to help another associate out, all your sacrifices for all your many years working at the job you loved........only to be eliminated by self check out, a Change Machine, a Membership Kiosk, a Scan and Go app, click and pull, and Club Pick Up. That all still might happen......but at least we can say we fought for our livelihood, we fought for what we loved and that is all of our Brothers and Sisters out there with families, college tuitions, mortgages, car payments, our customers and members who deserve a smiling face at the register, at the Membership desk, at the café serving them quality food, who understand just by a look and body language that they have had a long day and would enjoy a quick joke or smile, maybe even a hug from a familiar face. It is time us workers finally join hands and stand up for what is "RIGHT". The ball is in our court. Call your Local Workers Union Representatives and get the ball rolling across this Great Nation. Let's give that hornets nest a good kicking. It's time for "JUSTICE".

For the people that are against the union what do you suggest keep excepting allowing them to do whatever they want and we just smile afraid to say anything fearing retaliation No one there to support us when you called into a managers office people they like put in positions and other ones work a lot harder, they holding interviews but they already know who they’re going to give the position to, you come to work every day work hard Barely able to provide for your family or suffer the person that said no union what do you suggest we do sit around and twiddle our fingers and hope we’re not the next ones to get fired or laid off for the stores that closed have show up to work signs on door we are a Afterthought to them

Look what happened to the meat cutters that started a union a few years back in a Walmart. Walmart closed the meat department. Problem solved. Unions are not the answer and hopefully the Supreme Court will strike a death blow to them shortly. 😁

I too was Union many moons ago back when it was $5 a paycheck.....and I would glady pay the $30 a paycheck now to have the Local Teamsters backing me up from this injustice to our fellow Brothers and Sisters. If anyone knows where or how we can get the ball rolling to organize something reach out please.

I was part of a union for 10 years they do a lot for employees when they call you in for a coaching you don’t feel alone or afraid because you have support they can’t just say and do anything and you don’t fear retaliation your pay is fair they would have never got away with this what is it 2% or3% pay raise for everyone while they are filling there pockets up and most employees still have to get government assistants to take care of there family yes I paid 30 dollars a check and it was worth every dollar because they knew they couldn’t just do what they want and when they want employees have a voice we don’t have to live in fear not knowing if we speak up if we will have a job tomorrow WAL-MART talks bad about unions because they if they get in they would have to stop these injustice and heartless practices

Some Costco’s are union and they start way higher than we do. Obviously there’s something there that we might need to start doing.

If I had that power and know how, I would have already contacted all of you all starting in Market 47 and 30. What about an exclusive Walmart and Sam's Club Workers Union? Call me a dreamer but there has to be a way to stop these bullies from throwing our fellow Brothers and Sisters out in the street. I truly feel so bad for my Manager and other displaced associates at my Club. At least I'm trying to be part of a solution rather than just talking about my fears and problems. What is so wrong about uniting? There is power in numbers. I do not feel it is too late. Anyone here remember what it was like to stand up for what you believed was right? Standing up for our Brothers and Sisters? Am I wrong for caring so much?

Was part of a Union. Paid initiation fee and weekly dues. ( much more then $5.00 ). Did nothing. Promised strike pay when we went out on strike. Guess what... no pay.

Shop steward hardly listened.

Thanks but no thanks.
