Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Anybody else not buying this?

Am I the only one who thinks that this whole "we'll use meritocracy and evaluations to decide on which AMs stay and which go" is bull?

Something tells me that this is going to be a bunch of same ol', same ol'. We'll lose some of our best people because the process will be ruled by nepotism more than anything else - as it always is.

Screw this.

It will be ona case by case basis. Seniority doesn’t have anything to do with it.

It was a very short and vague explanation. Basically if you have seniority you keep your job and the lesser experienced managers will be out of work. Doesn’t make sense though. If they wanted to eliminate cost, they would have to get rid of some of the higher salaries managers.

The conference call was this: 'We'll have the same amount of management team, we have a lot of rearranging to do to accommodate club management that lost their jobs. Once we place them, the rest will be displaced.'

So, 'may or may not have a job, enjoy your week!' haha.

I knew it was coming and not being negative about it. Just reading the writing on the wall. My only problem is how poorly it's being handled.

Nepotism...I don’t think you are using that word correctly...

So what are the details. This post says very little. All the hype and rumors on this blog point to just that b.s.

No offense but; they said that each club will keep the same manager headcount; they will make room for the good displaced managers; don’t fuel the fire; this was a given.
