AT&T Mobility in NY / NJ announced layoffs this week. Many at he 15 E. Midland, Paramus office. Anyone have details of how many and what areas?
84!!!
for the person that just found out you are surplus.. sorry to hear that....also, what region are you in?
yes so it sounds like the rounds are done with first levels being notified who is being surplus. I can't understand how they chose the ones who are surplus. It appears most were close to retirement and really didn't do a lot of projects in the center. My understanding they only get 6 months for pay as their package. Shaking my head they surplus someone is their 60's
If you are surplus, NEVER, NEVER choose to leave before 60 days...even if you find another job... just keep it quiet and enjoy the double salary for a few weeks...
2/5 is just around the corner. I am nervous as I am on the surplus list. If choose to leave before 60 days, off payroll by 2/26; otherwise last day 4/6. I hope we get good severance package. Any idea what kind of severance package from the last surplus?
How will you receive the surplus letter?

What is the "raise your hand option?"
Have you heard anything regarding the Raise your Hand Option?
I raised mine and validated with my Director and then validated with HR for my compensation for almost 30 minutes.
The announcement date of mid Jan came and went with NO communication.
After waiting 3 days, I contacted HR and told by Instant Message only, there will be an announcement at the end of January.
Our entire group of people, 100+ who were on the MANDATORY ALL HANDS CALL were told that if you raised your hand and I did, through electronic submission that it was binding and would be accepted for voluntary termination.
surplus based on performance. Letter on 2/5. They are not asking for volunteers. The impacted people will be off the payroll by 4/6
Is this happening on the AT&T mobility side
