Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

January 18 Humana layoffs

January 18th many rn’s And most PHC will unfortunately be let go. I would start planning for future as some of these could be immediately terminated

Heard the same thing about the date. I know people are saying that nobody really knows when exactly the layoffs will take place, but I've heard and seen January 18 too many times in too many different places for it to be a coincidence.

It’s not taxed at 40% fibber. And you don’t have to be making 80 k to get a good amount. It depend on if you got a raise in 2017 or not and depends on the percentage you should get anywhere from 2-5. Better performing associates get a better check because they deserve it.

Welcome to the fire pit of hell. If you can't stand the heat of a few off comments maybe you would be better off on Twitter with the rest of the snowflakes. And since we are talking snowflakes. You won't melt if someone offends you in a post. Get over it, this constantly offended bullcrap may work in Hollywood but it won't work here.

I’m a phc as well and mine is nowhere near $750. So for that poster jump on the other person it wasn’t necessary.

You are obviously a nurse and not a PHC. To get 2500 you would have to be getting all 12 months and be making over 80k a year. PHCs make half of that and most of us on my team got a raise in 2017 lowering our 2018 one time only down to 3-6 months worth. Tax that by about 40% and it is very small. So mine won't cover much. I am sure your coach has already noticed your attitude and superiority toward others. Have a wonderful day

Why attack that poster for their comments. That person is entitled to feel however they want. That’s the problem with this board people want jump someone because they are not as grateful as the next person. Who are to tell the next person how grateful they should be as long as your grateful that’s all that matters.

“We will still get our one time only pitiful checks. I'm going to use mine to splurge on a Chicken sandwich at Chik-Fil-A. Hahaha. It's about all it will buy.”

I hope the person who posted this gets Rif’ed. We don’t need this type of attitude in our company and I hope your leader sees your behavior. The associates on my team are getting anywhere from $750-2500. That is a pretty good lump of money the company did not have to give at all. Remember you are getting this money before you actually earn it for the year and will still get even if you are part of the RIF.

Yes it will help with something. Like many we just want to know are we in or out. I’m not knocking the op just thought we were past that question.

Yup, a drop in the bucket compared to losing our pay. But I will gladly take it and add to my severance. It might buy groceries for a couple weeks at least. Faced with losing my job I won't scoff at any money thrown my way to put toward my mortgage or food. I may use it to buy some new interview clothes

Thankful for the one time payment. However at the end of the day it will not make or break me at this point.

Not being mean please don’t start asking about that one time payment, everyone will still get it. Read the faq’s on the hi page. People are probably more concerned about their job vs a one time payment. Again not being mean but we’ve been through this on previous threads.

Layoff won't be this week. It takes HR a few weeks to process all the paperwork. It will be beginning of February probably. Look at it this way, 2 more weeks of pay to look for work. We will still get our one time only pitiful checks. I'm going to use mine to splurge on a Chicken sandwich at Chik-Fil-A. Hahaha. It's about all it will buy.

I am suppose to get bonus (or whatever management is calling it) check on Jan 19. If Laid off on the 18th.....probably no bonus.

What are the chances the move to in home will provide us the opportunity to graduate to working in member homes? If this happens and we decline, we would lose severance, correct?

PHC’s have a meeting on 17th and then the all associates call on the 18th. If they are doing away with our roles they may tell us on the 17th.

They will tell all associates this week on the 1/18, thats where the 1/18 date comes in , the actual layoff announcements wont be for another 2-3 weeks, ( beginning of Feb).

Usually an update with such big news as Blinky’s is followed - on this site - by denials, insults (I.e., “chicken little), contradictions (someone claiming they “have it on good authority that PHC’s are staying,” for example).

The fact that there’s been zero pushback to this update tells me all I need to know.

Thanks, Blinky for the update.

I know in the past when others were laid off they did not actually have to work that total time and were given time to job search. Also wondering about those of us waiting to be vested. Will we get our January 21st check, 60 notice, severance and PTO? If anyone can give insight into this from past experience or knowledge please do. Thanks.

I haven't heard any date, but I think, based on recent events, if layoffs are not announced this week they will be in 2 weeks. This week makes sense based on the town hall scheduled for Thursday. The 31st makes sense because that would make March 31st the last day for those affected. Recent events seem oddly similar to last October prior to the 11/1 announcement. I thought I had landed my dream job, working from home, a nice salary, wellness hours, good benefits. I won't be sad to see it go away if it is my time. I am updating my resume and starting applications this weekend. That way when I get my RIF notice all I will need to do is hit the enter button and be on my way with my one time payment and severance pay to a better place. Good luck everyone.

Do you think that will have a negative impact on associate FCM’s?

Humana began terminating contracts with several small Companies last week that provides Network FCMs for HAH program.

Blinks, thanks for the info...not knowing how many of my area will be hit makes it a bit more tense this week waiting for the Email, so sorry about those you have enumerated , for those left, other than huge case loads, what drastic changes are coming- if were not tapped for layoff, do we want to stay?

Blinky, or anyone for that matter, do you know anything about the HHIVR program, RMT and CT nurse positions?

Post ID: @1ygg+RdyXuYS

@binky...thank you.... So basically back to the staffing it was when it first started. How many cms and hcmss were there? With your estimates, the cms will be brought down closer to 1,000, so the hcmss may be cut from 160 to about 120. No phcs? And, to realign folk, positions may be revamped...maybe the announcing of it next week makes sense, especially with all the buy out talks....who will be left standing when the dust settles? Those with seniority? The most productive? We don't even know what the future is to see if we fit in the picture.... Such a frustrating time for us all

We appreciate your honesty and letting us know. What s---s is all the executive leadership sitting back, knowing all along this was happening. The moral and ethical thing would have been to tell the Live Healthy program was being eliminated. But then again, who would they have to wrap things up and move the members around?! Wonder how they sleep at night knowing how terribly this has been handled. It's not like we didn't figure it all out when all they ever talked about was the nurses. So they are going down to a skeleton crew of nurses and SSs. Sounds like CHEs will only be kept to finish up what's left in the queues, sign some folks up for IVR then can their butts too. Let's look at numbers. All PHCS, coaches and their COMs. So that's just over 400 give or take. 400-500 nurses will leave them around 1100 left standing. Probably 50-100 SSs due to reduction in RNs and elimination of PHCs. That would probably mean about 18-20 CHEs cut. So that is over 1000 let go in this RIF.

The cuts are ALL Live Healthy PHC's, and their Coaches, COMs and Directors, along with about 400-500 HCM, RNs, and their coaches, COMs and Directors, and whatever the % of HCM-SS that are effected due to the cuts in the mentioned departments. I anticipate CHEs as well, and possible HAH administration. Deep cuts I believe starting in early February, and then more drastic changes for those who remain. And no, I will not tell you how I know, for the same reasons you wouldn't! No, I am not malicious, and don't dig upsetting people; I feel it is morally ethical that people be informed and have time to prepare, but not everyone feels this way; hence, the stealth. May the force be with us all.
