Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Its Comming!!

Dejavu all over again coming. Due to upcoming store hour changes, Seems like Solution specialists are next to get riffed. This may also include some managers. So much for the decent merit increase we received. Anyone else get wind of this?

Oh would you look at that. Store hours officially change April 1st. Opening later and closing earlier. Eliminitating 1 shift.. The prophecy has begun! Step 2, THE LAYOFFS....stay tuned as the story develops..

I can't see reps being laid off, the stores are grossly understaffed and could not handle a lay off.

Nobody gets fired for numbers?

So are we just ignoring those who have or just being stupid?

Yes they will. No one gets fired for numbers. They have to reduce headcount asap.

Also look at the Job Board throughout the Northeast market alot of openings for gerenal manager they cannot even take the bull sh-- anymore. Slamming products worked three years ago when plans where not adverstised as much and reps had compass to work with. Rep know adays lie and slam to customers and put it in the bag then the customer comes back and ask what is this on my bill than they are stuck with it. Retail has a life span left of 18 to 36 months than it will be done and indirect will take over. Reps had the chance to stand with Brooklyn, NY, and Everett, MA, but they did not have the balls to stand up for themselves and fight for a good middle class job. Because they feel they owe the company something for giving them this oppportunity but the kool aid the f--- down and understand this is a job where you go to and collect a paycheck to support yourself.

the zone smb reps are telling business account instead of upgrading tab disconnect them and then get new ones. I was told to do that by managers and the top smb rep we have in store. Also the one talk is being added and are telling customers its part of new plan, they can use it or not does not matter. Lying lying lying that all verizon can do but or director i am hearing does not want anthing added to account with out full disclouser and not slam it on the account, personal or smb.

"My managers are doing the dummy prepaid too. Just telling customers there’s a $45 start up fee and putting that towards a new line. The $5 extra keeps the line active beyond chargeback territory."

That is not considered a dummy prepaid account you dummy!!! Dummy prepaid accounts would be considered activating a phone that nobody is going to use possibly using a fake name for account and meid. I've heard of this practice being done a few years back but the commissions team caught wind and blocks this from happening. If you activate a prepaid without payment it disconnects the next day if money is never added. The $5 extra as was mentioned is to ensure a prepaid stays active long enough to not get disconnected. This is a common practice that is totally legit if you disclose it to customer. " Mr. customer we are adding an additional 5.00 payment on this new prepaid account so if you lapse in adding funds your phone number will not be disconnected ". They AlWAYS agree to it .

The SMB dummies is when they quote the customer $25 higher for business unlimited and just add One Talk. Those have been getting deactivated a lot.

theres dummy accounts... lots

a piece of advice from someone a little younger- embrace the unknown. you are making this statement based on the discomfort in your own mind, not reality. as soon as you think differently----by acknowledging the possibility--- you start learning all the time.

Makes no sense to do fraud SMB deals or any kind of fraud since it will still be a charge back and come back to haunt you . Also, what exactly is a dummy prepaid account? Even if you set up a prepaid phone cpe and activate without putting money on it ,it deacts within 24 hours. So what other non factual garbage do you want to spew?

The union should should go to every store and chat with the employees after they leave the job. You will find some of the numb nuts think they have a job for life and are as stupid as a brick, they still don't think they are expendable. It's incredible. I don't think the union has a chance in NYM.

The hours now are 10 to 8Monday thru Saturday and 11 to 6 Sunday. The only day they should change is Saturday ,after 6 we just die especially in the summer months. So Saturday should be 10to 6 or 10 to 7.

When you look at the year over year numbers it is dead the writing has been on the wall for sometime know. Managers are so desperate they have been pushing reps to do fraud smb deals when it is point blank fraud and setting dummy prepaid accts just for growth. Also creating hostile work environments by not getting rid of one toxic employee to save a sinking ship. The union is making a very strong push in the northeast into wireless again. The feeling this time around with reps is f--- it I will probably get riffed anyway may go down fighting. Union cards are signed and on the way to the NLRB for election more to follow
