Increased firings

Are there more firings going on than usual or is it just my imagination? It seems that I hear somebody else has been shown the door- and not in a layoff with severance kind of way - every other day. What's going on? I doubt people suddenly stopped doing their jobs altogether to cause something like that...

They can’t coach on numbers.

Just behaviors. If you’re ever asked “do you think you could have done something different, the answer is no. Unless you didn’t mention something you were supposed to.

Observations went from positive reinforcement to coaching out and only negative ones are filed.

"I heard that if you are let go for COBC you are also ineligible for pension."

I don't think so for pension. That would be controlled by federal law. At some point, the employee would have a "non-forfeitable", vested right to their pension.

But, dismissal for misconduct will result in no termination pay.

“In some instances, managers being terminated for creating false documentation, targeting of RSCs, fraudulent FMLA claims against employees, Attendance point issuance without cause”

This is all BS. Does anyone know ANY MANAGER who has been terminated for ANY of these things? Fraudulent FMLA claims against employees? Managers don’t even DO FMLA claims...

This is just some random that is trying to stop managers from holding poor performers accountable. Spending your time improving your performance would be a much better use of it.

“Attendance point issuance without cause..”

Lmao. This is not a thing. Attendance points are issued when someone either does not show up at all, is late to work, late from lunch, or leaves early without approval.

There isn’t a lot of grey area here... either you follow the attendance rules or you don’t. If you don’t and get pointed, that’s on you.

Cheaper to find some bs reason to fire someone than it is to give them a severance. I’m not sure but I heard that if you are let go for COBC you are also ineligible for pension. Maybe someone else can clarify.

Increased exposure to DTV and DTV NOW fraud/COBC. It’s not your imagination, but it’s not for no reason either. Some shady employees and managers are being terminated for questionable practices. In some instances, managers being terminated for creating false documentation, targeting of RSCs, fraudulent FMLA claims against employees, Attendance point issuance without cause, lots of poor behaviors on all levels. Some deserve it, some do not. Investigations occurring everywhere. And if you are being investigated, you are the last to know.
