Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Solutions Specialist Layoff This Week

I tried reaching out to my HR rep about something today. And every HR rep in our territory is in a meeting. They usually have thiers at the beginning of the month not the end.

They only have big ones end month when there is a policy change OR something is going to happen.

Can't say anything will come of the meeting but be prepared just in case.

Every rep I have talked to today that's working store (5 in SEM and 4 in NEA) That has monthly meetings that start at 830 have been pushed back to 730. And all are all hands. With people that are normally off on Fridays scheduled for the meeting. So something is up. Good or bad

And what happened? Nothing. I have said this a million times. They will not lay off sales people. They will just pip them out. And if you can the bottom 20% you better be ready to get some more bodies in the store. Because that is what retails all about: coverage.

Only way SS's get laid off is if they start shutting down stores. Which in my opinion is way, way, way overdue!

They aren't storing the pot. Did you even read the post? They said "something is going to happen. Good or bad"

In southeast market and we have several openings for solutions specs. Stop trying to stir the pot.

We just hired 2 solutions specialists in my store. The one will be gone, she's called out 7 times since she went live this month. We are still looking to hire another rep. Had 2 leave. I'm fortunate to work in a high-performance district.

Most of us are hitting quota and multipliers. Writing is on the wall though. We are making the customer self-reliant so the company can begin to close stores and reduce headcount. 10 billion still looking to get cut even after the tax break Verizon received.

Do the best you can and be prepared.

They did the same thing Jan 1, no solutions specialist positions were posted til the 15th. I didn't see any full time solutions specialist positions in my state(maryland) but I DID see and a part time position which is odd bc I was told there are no pt positions available......
