I was interviewing for a finance role in Houston and was told that a hiring freeze was instituted in the middle of their search. I have not encountered this and it seemed rather odd but it doesn't mean that it's a lie.
Does anyone know if there really is a hiring freeze? Any idea when it might end?

If you don't take this as a hint to stay the hell away from Honeywell, you are crazy! Don't work for Honeywell, it is run by idiots, and it's going to be broken up soon. Constant layoffs and furloughs, a ridiculous operating system which stifles employees, the worst benefits I've ever had, and quality is going down more every day.....stay away, get a real job! What is strange with Glendale Space is they are hiring those that were RIF'd or VRIF back but as subs.
My son was RIF'd back in 2016. There are even direct positions for a entry level EE, and a Senior Project Engineer at the Hon website under job search. Month ago I submitted his resume via email to the local managers and had him apply at Honeywell web site. I have not received so much as even an acknowledge from them, and he not for Honeywell . What gives ?
In my HON experience this was always the last action before significant layoffs so people targeted cannot escape. If it was a PMT Finance role then you can be sure you will be the next target to push role strategy to the regional finance center (RFC) in Mexico that has already taken over many ISC and other roles. Ah, yes, the now standard Honeywell dilemma: Not enough people to do the work and a hiring freeze to ensure that the remaining workers are optimally miserable. Run, don't walk, from this chamber of horrors.
They did you a favor. This is your chance to look at getting into a real company. Trust us, HON is like an out of control dumpster fire. It's a total sh-- show and you want nothing to do with it.
PMT has a hiring freeze, travel ban and fired all contractors in our area. Odd thing is, we are doing well financially, so no idea why the belt tightening.
