Any info about layoffs in Indirect?

I’m beginning to wonder a little bit. There haven’t been any job postings in the country for any type of indirect account manager, local or national for a little while now. This is odd because there are usually a couple somewhere at any given point. Things have seemed really quiet lately as well as far as communication from directors and dms. Could all just be coincidence.
Btw, what happened to the NCM Market President? Seems like he fell off the face of the earth after the Super Bowl.
Sounds like a lot of connection managers in Walmart in the north central market are being eliminated and replaced with a third party company (I’m assuming similar to TROC). Not sure if this has any implication for Account Managers, but something to watch.
I've always been interested in seeing if this would happen. Instead, indirect keeps plugging along with nothing to suggest time is limited. Seems like there have been some moves made to increase the longevity of this position such as NCM regaining a strong Director, new/lower prepaid price plans coming out, backfilling positions, attempting to add tools in retailers for the account managers, raises, trying to move to monthly commissions instead of MBO, etc. Guess we'll see
AT&T outsourced the position a year ago and hasn't looked back. Seems like the writing is on the wall.
The indirect job is one of the easiest "sales" job in the company. Only the " Favorites " get those jobs. An indirect rep is basically a liaison between Verizon and the reseller. Most are former store managers so they are used of doing nothing. However, they don't get commission s any more I believe they get a quarterly payout on
the indirect s performance from the area they service,so no direct selling, just someone to make sure merchandising is correct and to show their face once a week. So yes I can see Verizon retail going away before these reps getting axed.
