From one day to the next do I have a job or not? How are we supposed to run club's with these thoughts running through our minds. I see so many people on a daily basis reading THE LAYOFF SAMS CLUB, most managers try and disregard anything coming from this site. Deep down in they know were all just numbers replaceable anytime. So here's my question why do a good job? For What? Eventually you'll be gone might as well enjoy the ride while it lasts. All you gotta do is show up on time until your time is up. That's what I'm gonna do show up and apply for other jobs, Mr. Sams probably rolling in his grave. Whelp let's milk it while we can. hopefully I find something else before I'm fired.

Don't fret all of my Sam's club brethren. The economy is turning, and workforce, are going in a positive direction. It is time to leave this horrible company!
You do your job to the best of your ability still because you need security so to speak. 1-don’t give them a reason to write you up or fire you. 2- you don’t need a bad Evaluation on record these days 3-when your time comes all of the above will help you qualify for a severance hopefully. I think we are all to the point it’s not a matter of if my time is coming it’s when. And well after 18 years with this company I want my severance. So my plan is to do my job and ride this train until it runs off the tracks. Then go into retirement a happier person. One can dream lol
I see fear is causing a lot of people on the blog no to see the truth. Many of the post on this sight have come to pass. So much do, many are asking me if I am physic. Lol. I try to keep my fellow associates informed of what is in our future. Being eliminated is a Hugh possibility and NOT fake news. Wake up and smell the coffe! A change is a comin with both Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club and it ain’t all good. Managers have lied right to my face when I asked them several months ago about stores cutting many Co man and ASM. I also asked him about 3 rd shift be cut to a bare minimum at WM stores and forced to go to cap 2 with a pay cut. If you don’t then that’s on you.
The manager first denied it and then said how did you know? Continuing to pray for us all in Jesus name. Amen.
Sorry to commenter yug but striving for leadership positions will get you nothing but a severance check. They are cutting leads slowly but surely. Best way to stay with the company is stay below lead, and learn every part of the store you can. You would have to work your butt off and show you will bend over backwards for these people that care nothing for you. And even doing that does not guarantee you staying with Sam's. We've all seen that with the recent manager layoffs. Yes this is happening everywhere, but just be smart about choices. While showing up to work on time and milking it, also take some classes on another trade. Make sure when it's time to get out of the company (severance or quiting) that you are able to easily find something better. Something out of retail. Because eventually all retail will kick you to the curb to move to online sales.
You’re worried because of the garbage that is posted on this site. That is your own fault for believing anything on here. Sure some has been true, but most is nonsense. If you’re so worried about your job never come to this site again....
Grass ain't greener
The 11 dollars base pay combined with the 2% raise isn't bad. it shows people if they want more they need to strive for it in leadership positions but for more seasoned employees they really needed to have a better rate than 2% say work there 3 years get 4% work there 7 and get 6% percent so on and so on. they also need to fix the busted a-- principle where any reject with a little experience in diffrent business can get a higher wage than seasoned employees right off the bat. some person became a meat cutter and got a higher wage just from saying he had some experience. he had a higher wage than a lot of the other cutters.
I agree why work your a-- off for the same 2%. In my opinion this is we’re going down they want just average workers. This is why so many have now joined the 2% average person, this is why the clubs look like sh--, we get what we pay!
So, you're thinking all is well elsewhere? No, this is happening everywhere, not just Sam's. Too bad you haven't looked beyond the rim of your own fishbowl, cause if you did you'd know people are getting laid off EVERYWHERE.
