Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Information packet

How does it come? Is it registered? Do I have to sign? Anxious to get it.

I got mine. I got the calendar in the same day. The calendar came USPS and the "Associate Transition Packet" came via UPS. I didn't have to sign for either. I mention the calendar because it was confusing to receive it when I knew the termination packet was scheduled to arrive.

The calendar is like the icing on the cake. The cover says, Living our Values". Is a Humana value putting people out on the street? Why even bother sending that to RIF'ed employees.? I am planning a bonfire with all Humana trademarked items/papers/etc. when this is all over.

Finally the Packet, the long awaited packet. This is the most organized, professional and relevant document I have received from Humana, thus far I would have said up to date but the cover does have 2017 on it. It is like Humana finally got its sh*t together just as I am leaving. I could say more, but so won't.

People saying that you cannot work during the 60 period outside of Humana is 100% FALSE. Once you are released from your duties you can take a job outside of Humana anytime you want.

According to several HR reps on our notification call last week, we are free from Humana as soon as we are released from reporting to work and we do not have to wait until the severance period begins to start another job. That was clearly stated on the call. There is no question of being called back to work after being released early because the program is shrinking, not growing. We no longer matter to Humana and severance is just a drop in the bucket to them now.

Your release packet will have all the information. According to HR, you are able to working during your severance period. However, you are not able to work another full time position during your 60 day notice period. If you are able to get employment that quickly, I would not make mention of it. Best to take the 60 notice period and go on interviews and make your new job start date during your severance period. That is what I did and it worked out great.

Below poster...in the meeting last Thursday it was said if released early we could start a new job outside of Humana before the 60 days we could still get pay for the 60 days and severance. My team and coach confirmed this as well. But I also know someone who talked to HR this week and HR said something different. Anyone have any idea what is accurate? Haven’t received my package in the mail yet.

We are only released when our supervisor releases us. Yes, you can work elsewhere and still get severance.

The layoff package comes by UPS and you do not have to sign for it. Go to the UPS website and register for UPS My Choice to get email or text alerts about scheduled deliveries. I received mine this afternoon.
