Average Tech Salaries in Seattle rise to $132k

Anyone who lives in Seattle area should jump on this. Who in tech that works for AT&T is BOTHELL area makes this much.

Seattle is very much like San Francisco. Very expensive to live in. $132k won't go as far as you think it should!

Wow! What a coincidence. I recently left At&t making 94k a year to making 132k a year. Additionally I got passed over for promotion twice in favor of a child of a vp. Good luck nepotist. There’s a reason Verizon has a better business. They have a zero tolerance for nepotism policy.

Off shoring technical jobs drives the wages down. The only IT jobs not yet off shored is in security. The security group has been downsized, broken up and under funded.

In Denver, the tech salaries have been dropping for 35 months straight. The State unemployment as measured 25 years ago is around 11%. The new official rate is of course reported much lower.

In Denver Tech Center, Echo Star needs a experienced programmer / DB for $36 / hr. on a w2 with no paid benefits. Keep in mind that a 1 bedroom apartment with out garage or utilities averages $1,245 Mo.

Top level object programmer jobs or DB programmer with top performance and monitoring jobs on a w2 with no paid benefits are now ranging $45 to $55.

The oil/gas companies since the bust have an average 82% layoff. During the oil peak, truck drivers were making $55 hr.

Housing continues to rise as retired workers out of the DC and California want to move to scenic Colorado where housing is cheaper than the ones they are selling. An average 30 year old 1,200 sq ft home is around $510,000 in Denver. People commute 60 miles from Colorado Springs to find affordable housing.
