It sounds like some of you don't understand the process. There will never be a VP level call where they tell you that you are either "safe" or "surplussed", or ask for any volunteers to be surplussed. The VP level calls are only to inform you if you are in the affected workgroup where they will be cutting. That's it. That does not mean either that you will or will not be surplussed, it means that there will be people in your large organization that will be surplussed. There are 0 (zero) specifics on numbers. They don't start to get an idea of the number they need to cut until after they get the "interest in leaving" surveys back (those are to be emailed out today), and over the next couple weeks, they will start to develop a target and work with Directors and AM's to identify the team members that will be surplussed (presumably using the performance/ skills/ leadership/ experience metrics). You'll find out if your surplussed in early March. Until then, thanks for all that you do and you're all terrific. Stay focused out there people.
