Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Perm tech meeting tomorrow in Hoffman States.

There is a meeting tomorrow 2-9-2018 between ibew 21 and AT&T . The last rumor I heard was 150 in Illinois. So I hope ibew 21 fights hard to keep people employed, when their are contractors doing DTV work in all areas . So pray that the union stands behind us.

Well that's what happened to I&R core techs. The prem tech title was added and has slowly allowed the company to eliminate core techs. The company convinced the premise techs that they were the future and they bought it hooks line and sinker playing them against I&R. Remember the premise technician title was negotiated into the contract despite the negative impact it would have on union members i.e. I&R techs so I don't see anything surprising. Everyone that has been with the company for sometime knew that this would eventually happen.

The union will do NOTHING for prem techs, you should know that by now. The company will continue to use you, then throw you away like garbage, that is their plan.

Ibew 21 can't find their a-- with both hands. Little know fact; Ibew 21 has "contractors" of DTV on their books, too. Hard to bargain for one member, while you do damage to another.

150 techs? I'm sure it's way more than that. At least for now. They will have waves of cuts over the next couple years. Best thing to do is find other employment and never look back.

Unions don’t give a sh--, they cut them a check for the loss of union dues and the union says they did all they could.
