Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Displaced over untaken survey actual email.

Club Management teams,

We started the year establishing our plan for Operations with clear focus areas – drive sales, grow membership, increase operating income and improve the member experience. And, we know that our people, especially our club management teams, are key to making progress in each of these areas, which is why People is the first of our Sam’s Club strategic pillars – People, Product and Digital.

We are committed to further developing our people while creating a culture and environment at Sam’s Club where engaged and empowered associates can focus on serving our members – ALWAYS. To continue providing our management teams new opportunities for growth, we first need to gain better visibility to your special skill sets, experience and aspirations. Unfortunately, however, our current systems do not have the capabilities to do so.

To gain a clearer understanding of your background and future interests, we are asking you to complete a survey to tell us more about you. You will receive the survey separately from Qualtrics later today, which I’d ask you to complete by Dec. 1. Please be accurate and thorough to allow your responses to give us the most information about you as possible.

Thank you, as always, for what you’re doing – especially during this busy holiday season.

GR

To the Managers displaced, for whatever the reasons were, whatever the criteria used to execute this,

you must accept that at some level the Company does not feel it wanted to offer a position. Hard to accept for All I am sure. Especially those who were Coached with Agenda's real or imaginary. Sometimes it's simply time to move on, God is speaking to us. Our service is over, for most I'm sure you have done your very best to serve your Team, your Members, and the Company. However, it is over, and it is the end of our Watch. Not the end of our lives, just the end of our time to serve here.

Don't be sad, do not be afraid, let your heart not be troubled. It is difficult to believe now, but if we rise tomorrow with a grateful heart, look to God to guide our steps,,do not panic, he will lead us to a better day, and better opportunities! I have been displaced as well, and I am grateful for those I knew, worked with and opportunities afforded me. If it is time to go, I'm willing to accept that and move on.

I trust in God and I know tomorrow will bring hope joy, and a better opportunity. Please believe that because it is the one truth you can count on!

God Bless all my fellow travelers on this difficult journey, trust and he will keep you!

The very best to All! Remember you have your health, your lives your futures, your loved ones!

Opportunity will come. Don't forget why we all worked to succeed, it was for those we love!

God Bless!

I ask this respectfully, can anyone give serious feedback about the status of those Club and ASM's not offered a Club opportunity. You are Active can pursue other Club positions? Seems to be a lot of confusion and aspen Clubs are not really opened. Are we as displaced Managers being considered or is it for naught. If the Company no longer wishes our service best to move on. Just like to know from some serious credible folks in the company. Please no guess work, rumors or spiteful comments. Many of us just need direction to look for an opportunity to stay with the Company or move on.

Appreciate all if my Brothers and Sisters displaced who have had lives destroyed and turned inside out. Gods speed with us all to a better day, and resolution for ourselves and loved ones!

May God Bless and watch over us all!

Hey idiots there was an actual talent review done by the CMs and MMs that had nothing to do with the survey Gisel sent out.... Being on LOA would mean nothing for that talent review that says your performance was based on...

It was all over the survey every manager took. You need to stand up and fight together. This is bs what they did to all of you. What they did is replace you with lower paid and younger managers. This is age discrimination and they must be stopped this is happening way to often. Sams Club needs to provide the documentation that proves these older long term managers were fired for other than their age.......

After being displaced I was handed a severance packet. Along with this severance packet came a FAQs (frequently asked questions) the very first question.

Why is my employment being terminated?

Operations leadership conducted an extensive talent review of most managers across the organization. Based on the results of the talent review, you were not selected for a postionwith Sams club.

After being on an approved L.O.A I was never given an opportunity to take this survey but was terminated based on the results of this survey. I'm looking for managers in a similar situation as mine. WE NEED TO FIGHT!!
