Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

0 (Zero) Customers Today

I woke up with my car covered in snow, and detours due to accidents on my way to work I called my manager to let him know I might be late. His response was you should of stayed closer to work. I don’t care how you get here you need to get here now. Meanwhile I get to work and there is 6 employees and 0 customers in the store. My safety is not important obviously. Screw this company!

"Try "should have" or "should've", not "should of". It makes no sense"

Obviously you understood enough to respond. It is usually the ones who are so completely anal that have something to hide.

My manager would have said to stay home. And he's not some newbie who doesn't know the ropes. Been here a very long. Don't blame Verizon for all your crappy managers.

I was joking with a coworker today how it would be interesting to see what happened if we all lost internet for a week. We would just sit and twiddle our thumbs at work. He replied with "They'd make you organize files, or stack chairs, or any menial task to make sure you're doing something."

As a field tech in NYC they sent everyone out with enough jobs you couldn't complete in perfect conditions and pressured you to complete them while emailing you corporate winter safety tips.

The Boroughs were a blizzard mess as the City declared a State Of Emergency with hurricane force winds and whiteout conditions. The Buses stopped running at one point but not Verizon.

The customers were saying when you showed up "I don't know who is more stupid ......You or Verizon?" I had to think that one out. One thing is for sure....those winter safety emails sent today ( 7 of them) were for legal purposes only I would guess as a defense against negligence because no one in management cared one bit for your safety today.
