Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Who came up with ARD?

Who thought up this number. Management wants $150 per device whenever people come in. Such a joke. "bundle it together with a hum"

ARD is a complete waste of time

ARD way back used to be 60/70 something like that which was something very much more obtainable. When Verizon started flooding their stores with expensive crap the ARD requirement started creeping to 80/100/150/200. The problem with this is the whole time theyre driving ARD up they have no one actually training anyone in the store on how to even get to a goal like that. See Verizon has always been known for carrying overpriced accessories so they have that against them. And without proper training you have reps slamming unsuspecting customers with these made up bundles to acquire the goals and because the management team didnt know how to sell they encouraged those bundles with these "bundle sheets" which are pretty much designed to trap an ignorant customer into accepting a bunch of crap feeling like they have no choice. See what should have been done was training and explain to sales staff to sell not only the product, but the value of it and sell yourself too. Now thats not saying it would have solved anything but you would have had reps properly trained on how to approach the products and move up in ARD.

The other problem is Verizon wants to push all this stuff that they sell yet refuse to advertise any of it. People want a speaker, blue tooth, a drone or anything like that theyre going to go to best buy because thats what theyre known for. When have you ever seen Verizon advertise anything other than their stupid network which they continue to do so despite it not being 2007.

Verizon really needs to properly train you people on how to actually sell and they need to let people know "hey we sell more than just phones". They wont do either and by end of this year your ARD will be 300 and you will continue telling people they have to get all this stupid crap along with unlimited data and a hum because nobody knows how to sell.

TAR (total accessory revenue) makes so much more sense. It promotes selling. You cannot manipulate TAR. ARD can easily be manipulated

There only thing our prices s--- on are screen covers. Cases unless on sale or off brand aren't bad and smart accessories are priced the same everywhere.

In my store you are required to sell $150 bundles managers will give you a coaching portal if they observe you not leading with a bundle. They require us to tell customers they have to pay $180 OTD accessory bundle and up fee.

Our credo and codes leave no room for your sentiment that people deserve to be taken advantage of.

Not sure why anyone buys anything from cell phone stores. They are just a complete ripoff.

I guess if you are stupid enough to go there you deserve to get taken advantage of.

I would be happy if they did away with commissions and paid you out 100 percent of the act fee for example you sell 150 devices that’s $4,500 in comission. I’m curious to see were the act Fee money goes too.
