Grievance Process question

Can we make a grievance against a site director? At our call center our site director put a block on us receiving Etime and from previous posts I’ve seen call centers are still getting Etime. I thought the management wasn’t allowed to tell us we couldn’t take Etime due to our save rate, but at our Call center we’ve been told that they’ve blocked Etime because people were leaving with a low save rate is this something we should bring to the unions attention ? This is not fair

You can file a grievance any time you think you’ve been treated unfairly. E-time is not contractually applied equally, rather SUPPOSED to be offered by seniority.

But if you have evidence it was denied based off of work performance, you have a case for retaliation.

You are worried about a grievance while most others are concerned about a surplus. Get over it. Show up on time. Do your job. Keep a low profile. Otherwise, find a new job. You are not being held hostage. Tough love.

E time is not contractual. Therefore you have no valid grievance. I suppose the CWA could file under the catch all of improper supervision but they won’t have a leg to stand on.

A grievance can be filed for a violation of the contract, or if an employee is being treated unfairly. But, in the matter of E-Time (furlough), I think the "unfair" test would be confined to a matter where some at the same site are being granted e-time while others are excluded.

I doubt the grievance would work because one particular site has a different policy than another site. Management does have some discretion.

Your union steward won't do sh-- for you. They are only interested in s---ing up to management and getting out of work

Speak with you "union Steward" --- It WILL NOT help though.

The union is pretty much not worth a darn anymore. Just look at the contract deals that they agree to. Also, just look at ANY CWA website. None of them are updated and what little info they do post is crap!

You can file a grievance for anything. Wether it's valid or not is between the company and union. Talk with your local or steward first and see what they say. Not sure what etime is to answer your specific question.
