News released today.

Oh and there’s a hiring freeze within Honeywell right now so you will have to look external. / :

So sorry to everyone this hurts. Count your blessings anyway.

While they are getting rid of US jobs, they are ramping up the hiring boards in India; hiring in all areas they are getting rid of here.

So President Trump, you’re going to stop the rapid outsourcing of American jobs? Make America great again? I think you are too late to the table.

This s---s.

I’m 60, single income family, losing healthcare is scarier than losing my job. And yes, I am in the PLM/ EOPS group. Saved well for retirement- at 65- because of healthcare.

Not sure what I’m going to do. Career opportunities are slim after age 55.

CB&I is planning to announce the sale of $2 billion technology group by this Friday, Honeywell is expected as the buyer. This will mean certain overlap between UOP and CBI technologies and consequently some job reductions to achieve “ synergies”.

Of course the message is inconsistent. Up to the mgmt to determine whether to communicate or not. We were told budgets in 2018 are not there and to apply to other positions. Rumors say our group will be disbanded.

-2ove Factor in that most of those jobs are held by men and are employees that have been here longer than 20 years. That reduces the number to less than 350.

@2kzh- not sure what part of EOPS you are but aero under the PLM group was told this week via staff meeting that they all needed to be looking for new jobs, budget has been cut almost completely. PLM budget was cut from $48mil down to $10mil. Not sure how deep the EOPS part was. But that’s a huge cut.

Make no mistake, it’s all being outsourced.

This is an engineering company and engineering should be in charge. Some of you clowns should understand that. Without engineering this company is nothing. The bean counters can all leave and no one will notice.

"...engineering has always come through with business solutions in the absence of competent ISC...". Exactly what someone else mentioned earlier - scope creep. Engineering is supposed to design and develop product. NOT create business solutions. This is why Engineering is seen as difficult and a thorn in the rest of the business functions' sides. Do what you're supposed to do and quit trying to run the company.

I don't think this affects all of EOPS (if it's even true at all). I am part of EOPS, had a staff meeting today, and absolutely nothing was said about this. In fact, we talked about upcoming projects for 2018. So... ?

This is insane, engineering has always come through with business solutions in the absense of competent ISC and now they are being cut??? "Hey thanks for the hard work, oh by the way"

And the stock is being pumped up based on what?

@1Pga, you are correct. I still maintain my postion of ZERO Honeywell items in my home to include fans, heaters, humidifiers, thermostats and air filters. This also goes for HON labelled apparel like hats or shirts, pens, chargers, etc. Anything with the name HON on it goes either right in the trash or I give it to Goodwill. I will not have any of that junk in my home.

1vex - Honeywell mgmt is AGGRESIVELY outsourcing all to India. They (mgmt) believe it is still cheaper to have India do something 5 - 10 times to get anything right, rather than have "high cost" US workers do it once and get it done. Just look around and see where nobody in US ever gets replaced.....Stinks.

1nts, FYI, HON sold off consumer products, eg Fram, Autolite, Prestone, back in 2011 (Googled it), so feel free to buy those products :) I've been using Fram products for years, way before Allied bought Bendix. Actually sold those products in life before HON.

@QuUvzcd-1hqp That's funny because many years ago when we did Green Belt training they actually had us make paper airplanes. Hmm... it may have been helicopters now that I think about it.

Merry RIFmas everyone. I hope all those affected all find higher paying jobs in better companies. I will continue to drag my feet and cost the company as much money as I can. I also refuse to buy anything branded HON for my home. No thermostats, no HON air filters, no Fram anything etc. I make sure none of my income goes back to HON in ANY way. F--- those greedy m------f----s running this place. F--- them all.

@1hib. Botched the Teamcenter rollout? Are you kidding? That would be our clueless management team, who never get anything right! They have no clue or background into the technical functions of projects, yet try to manage them like we are making paper airplanes. Not that simple but makes any engineers job way worse when you have to constantly explain to your upper echelon things their brains cannot understand and don’t care to understand. Engineers did not botch Teamcenter; management did.

Whoever botched the Teamcenter rollout SHOULD be looking for work.

Stop worrying about checking boxes and hitting stupid milestones and do the damn job right.

Welcome to corporate America my friends! Outsourcing and greed is the name of the game.

Prepare yourselves well and learn as much as you can and never have any loyalty to any one company. The second you get a better deal somewhere else leave with no regrets because they will get rid of you the second they don't need you anymore. Good luck to all.

What does "team center and everything in between" mean? Do you not realize there are multiple other tools not controlled and rolled out by Engineering for the exact same purpose? Why does E&T (now "CTO") continue to think they run Honeywell??? WTF is wrong with the Engineering function in this company?!?! Engineering may have the most numbers, but it's not the controlling function in ANY company!!! It is essentially the design and developing function ONLY. Unless you're a complete idiot, there are many more aspects to running a company. This is the essence of why Honeywell is failing... Engineering is trying to control everything it knows NOTHING about!!! Stop the madness!!!

Haha totally agree Honeyboohoo! About teamcenter. What a waste of good time and talent. As an engineer in this area I can tell you I am swamped busy with multiple projects right now. In charge of most of them. But I, along with my whole group, was told the budget cuts have cut our whole PLM department. Not sure what will happen to my projects, or when, but being that there is a hiring freeze right now (we were told that as well) I’m expecting a tap on the shoulder any day.

-1vex Sorry my Teamcenter crack wasn't directed at the folks doing the real work, it was about the decision to implement something so bad.

Yes it’s about engineers (I am an engineer, here 20+ Years, 5 years from retirement / : and I got the verbal notice today— s---s)

And team center and everything in between. You ask what will happen without engineers? Easy. India. Honeywell is slowly outsourcing everything to save money. It’s greed and power over quality and people.

Welcome to America.

Is this about Teamcenter? Are they just moving people because management has declared successful implementation of one of the biggest Aero productivity killers in the last 10 years?

What does PLM handle? Is it also engineering? We need engineers to actually fix and improve things so what are they supposed to do without them if the whole department is cut?

Not fake news. Not sure why you- 1fqy- don’t know- but everyone was told via staff meeting today. PLM group was told of budget cut weeks ago. But EOPS was informed today.

Nothing via email of course! No paper trail. But I promise you. This is not fake news.

I wish it were. It affects me 100%.

As part of EOPS, I have heard nothing about this. Who was notified, HOW were they notified, and what EXACTLY was said??? Until I hear otherwise... This is just more fake news.

It's Aero. Eng Ops is part of Chief Technology Office (CTO). Other parts of EOPS are being impacted too, and I am guessing it will not end there. It's sad that our leaders cannot or will not be more honest about who affected and when. It's agonizing and stressful.

Project life management and engineering operations. Of course none of this applies to our Indian counterparts- only US. What does that tell you?

Can you say.... outsourcing?

The USA is becoming a third world country fast. Time to move. Too bad we don’t speak the language.
