I want to respond to those that say the underperforming will want to join and the over performing will not. I and my over performing compatriots in my district want a union. If you can't see that you will benefit no matter your performance then stfu battery (another matrix reference), I am fighting for everyone because "first they came for them and it didn't matter until they came for us". Do something before they lay us all off! Argue with me I f---ing dare you.

Hey to the guy that said about we want a union to bring down the company go fuucccckkkk yourself!!!! We all need to be scabs and Verizon does need to close something. There are a ton of jobs out there.
A Union is not going to bring about a plethora of customers to keep a store’s doors open. A Union is not going to keep technology from taking your work. A Union is not going to stop your calls from being routed oversees.
Just look at the wireline side. They are Union, but their numbers are declining due to technological changes, off shoring , and contracting. It’s the way businesses operate late these days.
Come to work, earn your pay, and use the benefits. When something better comes along move on. No sense in giving a Union (that is not going to magically change your situation) dues that you could be saving for when you transistion to a new job. If you feel still feel a Union can help you, stop talking about it on here and start talking to Organizers.
Sounds like the main reason you guys want to bring in a union is to stick it to the company and pull it down. That's an odd sentiment from an employee of a company that provides your livelihood. But I suppose that goes well with the type of people you are.
Why would Verizon spend so much $$$$ in fighting a union?... oh I know is because they care so much abou their employees! and they don't want us paying union fees! Thanks Verizon for caring so much about all of us!!! NO!... They dont want the union because they know that while they can do whatever they want, a union WILL 100% slow them down!
If you think the union is some great savior, talk to people from the now-closed everett, MA store. I'm not on vzw side at all, i think the company has become a train wreck. but joining a Union won't do a dam thing for you except make you pay dues.
It is dumb to think that you will make less money for joining a union. The whole union thing is much more complicated than that. After this comment you will get a lot of negatives about the union, you got to understand it is like the matrix, if a rep is not part of the supporters they can become an agent. Then you got agents all over the place. And think about this: if Verizon wasn't going to pay you more if you join the union why do they fight it so hard? If unions are dumb to be part of why does the system fight them so hard? The matrix does not want you to know the truth. Follow the rabbit 🐇.
Starting a union at Verizon? Rule #1 don't talk about it with anyone that will tell management. They will bring all kinds of unwanted attention, transfers and corporate types from the east coast. #2 contact CWA asap and ask for help. #3 build a close nit group together in your store and then district to start meeting after/before work. I started but was stomped out by the fear brought by corporate types. The funny thing was, the more attention they gave the more interests my coworkers got in signing up. I'm on the low right now,but I'm going to get back in the game next qtr if they don't lay us off first. Good luck!
