Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike makes soles but it is soulless

The people that were victims of layoffs were older and higher salaries employees. The company is moving to a different worker profile. Young, technical, cheap, and a transactional relationship in the gig economy. Nike doesn’t want lifers anymore. We all see how well it is working so far with stocks struggling, innovation non existent and consumers moving on to other things. Nike makes soles but it is soulless.

Hit the nail on the head, @QfYIHx9-dhk.

They are forgetting what got them to the top. The people. It takes a diverse group to be successful but now if you've been there awhile you can easily be discarded.

In my experience, Nike keeps hiring on high priced ex-consultants who are good at powerpoints and BS and nothing else. These people are being kept on while others who don't have the ivy league education and investment banking or consulting in their backgrounds are being let go.

Nike is a company of super chickens and we all know how that will work out.
