I think I'm done with Verizon. They let go of some of our best folks today. That's no way to treat your long-term employees that helped build Verizon. The layoffs and the anticipation that lasted for months have caused me enough mental harm. I'll be looking for new company the first chance I get. I'm so sorry for all the folks who lost their jobs today, but I am sure you all will be okay. You can only go up from Verizon.

I'm sorry that folks are getting laid off, but this is the way the tech industry has been for years. If you have the misfortune to be in the product line that they are stopping, you are often gone, regardless of what you've contributed. And cynically, folks who've been a company for long time make more, and therefore are also gone. I'm not saying that's what's happening at Verizon, but I've certainly seen it at a lot of companies. Then you have the job done by someone who makes less.
Unfortunately there are many companies worse than Verizon too. Good luck
