I know everybody is worried about layoffs but there is life after T. Maybe this is a calling for you to do something better .. open up your own business , go to a higher paying job, enjoy life. Life is not all about being in a cubical or a job that constantly telling that you are vulnerable to get laid off 8 hours a day .. ! We were all programmed that we have to have a job to be successful in life , we were never taught on how to be independent business owners. We all made this company millions but now it’s your time to make millions . I know it’s going to be challenging times, but always walk by faith and not by sight. I know a lot of people that left T and got better positions and actually doing much better but it takes time.

My whole dept. was surplus’d ( what a crappy term) over a year ago and I occasionally check this site when I hear about more layoffs. Let me confirm that this post is so right on the money! My ex coworkers have ALL moved on to much bigger and better things! They got Real Estate licenses, started their own companies, changed professions completely- or went on to another big company (with SUCH a positive and energetic culture) making twice the income of AT&T’s puny salary (with its laughable yearly increases). Oh wait, that last one was my story. :) You kind of get lost in the negative weeds when you are with AT&T. Have the faith to get out. Believe me- I dont know 1 person that would go back to that toxic environment once they breathe fresh air again.
