Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Layoffs of 20% and $126 billion in revenue, Corporationism run amok

The corporate entity is a monster that destroys careers for no other reason than to make Wall Street happy. Our ostrich-like politicians reward this perverted corporate behavior with massive tax cuts while our country is driven further into debtor status. And when all the good jobs are gone and the choice is to either eat a meal or buy a cell phone maybe the light bulb will go off over mr ceo's head and he'll realize that cutting jobs is counter-intuitive. But by that time it will be too late because Wall Street will hate mr ceo and he'll be RIF'd.

You are correct sir, but what are we going to do about it? People don't seem to vote for their own best interests. Think about this - Candidate Trump wanted to appear to be a regular guy and so he told the lemmings that the Wall St guys were "getting away with murder" with their carried interest deduction loophole . So the people elect him and now what does President Trump do? A huge wealth transfer to the rich! Looks to me like us working stiffs are getting a tiny tax cut (or even a HIKE in some states) while Trump slashes the corporate tax rate, and repeals the estate tax and alternative minimum tax! If you're wealthy, like Trump or his kids, it's raining money down on you from the sky. If you're not, you'll be paying for this in the future with a reduction in your SS and Medicare. Are we winning yet?
