This is not good for us at all as the job market is going to be saturated with telco resources for a while... Get out of telecom. Nothing good comes from being in telecom.
Wow I just checked out the board. Looks like non-stop posts and lots of people affected. Sorry to see, seems it's much worse than what we have seen at T.
I got my layoff notice today. My manager told me the number of "impacted employees" is over 16,000.

Remove the "for a while"
Post fixed. There will be no recovery.
The hit IT and Network really hard today.
Other functions not so much.
