I'm the receiving lead. I have no day time dock associate and only 1 night receiver and a kind of coverage night guy. We are a low volume club, so I get that this is the way things are. Bare bones. Its been this way for us for years now. The only way my clerk (who is amazing and awesome and the best person i ever worked with and if she reads this will know I wrote this.) survive day to day is by working as a team. My night guy.....some days are good..some days are horrible. Not that I have any input anymore. Seems all the managers in my club tell my team what they need to do, and seem to NOT include me as the receiving team lead.(emails and verbal) Its like I no longer exist in their minds. I got the documentation to prove my point and call them on it.....but does it really matter anymore? I got a team, in which my management "team" constantly cuts my off at my knees or goes behind my back. Normally I would be raising all kinds of hell over this, but..... does it matter anymore and will it do any good? Or will I just be the next one targeted for termination. That's how bad its gotten. As a leader I am proud as hell that my team has tells those managers, "have you talked to my team lead?" But the fact that this is been going on over several weeks and I have heard nothing seems to me that the receiving team lead means nothing now.
Yes I have read and heard all the rumors and stories on this site and by verbal story telling about what is going to happen to us in day receiving, Let me ask something.... my clerk spends as much time on the dock as in the office backing me up, and in the office I back her up. Normal start time for us is around 3:30 am. And we do more most day before 7 am in other clubs. Not kidding. And that's not even including all the random BS mangers have no clue how to do. And then I get included for now reason on a chain email at work about....books. The comment from the invoice clerk from the club that started the whole friggen email chain that included the entire market about street date books... (she was not aware how street books were marked or packed, since she is the invoice clerk and didn't work the on the dock) She has no clue how stupid she sounded to the entire market and the fact that the HO contact was "so glad" to be in contact with someone so knowledgeable in the field was amazing.
Sam's Club is a sinking ship. My only goal at this point is the last until I can get my severance package.
The sooner the better! :)
