Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Hey big blue here’s a question from big red...

Hey I’m a rep at Verizon. We’re broke and laying off everyone and raising quotas through the roof. So let me ask. How are things over there? How does your pay and commissions work? What is the base commission? Thanks for any info. Any info you’d like about us just ask.

It's not insider information to share information I was given as a non-employee by a hiring manager in an interview. Keep in mind, this is information disclosed to a non-employee with no confidentiality agreement.

Pay mix is basically two thirds base to one third at-risk or commission to meet your quota.

No cell company is going anywhere at the moment. Best option another career altogether. But if you want to stay with cell companies then best option is work from home with a vendor, worst case senario you do something else for that vendor.

Get out of telecommunication sales for the time being. If you feel like you need to stay just realize no matter which company you go to it won’t be a career. There are a ton of companies to go in to sales for. Telecommunications sales will be you jumping from job to job, chasing the bigger paycheck.

There are other options just have to look and take a shot.

Stay but look else where. After 13.5 years at T enterprise sales I was let go to not hitting my numbers. I can give many, many reasons but i did not hit them and that's all that counts. Do you want to sell all services and most you are re-selling at a 100% mark up against the OEM or OSM and asked why cant you sell it? Everytime you fix something it gets messed up due to outsourcing and emails saying we don't know how to do that, ticket or order canceled. Quotas are so unatainable and you have 5 components. After I was gone they re-did the comp plan and 2 months later sent me an invoice and said oh...we over paid you $1900 we want it back. They wont send any documentation but just i owe it...lol. In all my years I was never over paid and this happened to a bunch of us. The grass is not always greener on the other side. I'm with another service provider now and the lingo and process are soooo confusing. Look while you can but don't join T but be prepared for a huge change.

Sorry dude, don't do it. Stay away from T. I've been hearing a lot of good things about T-Mobile.

I’m not the enemy. Just a guy trying to make a living. I never had V until I worked for them. My loyalty is to the highest bidder. Once I spit out the kool aid it was easy to see. Can retail sales still make good money with T?
