Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Team lead

Just wondering why leads in the building do nothing but close. What is the purpose other than being the gofer for lazy management. The bulk of the business is 10 to 7 when members are in the building, why is it necessary to have leads 1 to 9::30. Managers be lucky if they close 2 nights a week and they b--ch about that. Optimize does not schedule this managers go in and change it? I believe home office should optimize management schedules to make it fair. Management should not be allowed to change schedules period!!!!!

Hello Walmart employees. I received a job offer to work a security detail at a local Walmart from Jan 10-18. Fifteeen hours shifts. Provide security for employee layoffs actions occurring at Walmart. These actions are occurring across the US. Don’t know what problems they are anticipating but they are hiring security personnel to standby while they layoff workers. I hear senior people at headquarters are also being affected. Sorry to hear people are loosing their jobs. Good luck and hope everything works out for the people who are layed off.

Seriously. How do you only have to close once a week. Is that something special your club does? Scheduling system always drops TLs in at least 2 or 3 a week.

QYzi9Nm-4mfn. hold asst mgrs more accountable? where in the hell do you get this crap? do you honestly think gm or assts KNOW what’s in store and keeping it from you?? every mgr that i know and it’s considerable, work their butts off. they are concerned about their jobs as well. you have no idea the pressure as well as unreasonable expectations that are put on them from well above the gm level. mgrs keeping “secrets”!!! you’re funny but mostly uninformed. maybe your club is on the to be closed list.

I think the Gm’s Need to hold assistant managers more accountable. All these secret layoffs and eliminating people is only tearing us apart. This is what you get when you keep secrets. It used to be nothing is a secret the door is always open and we thrived on this practice. No one cares anymore about the company.

Sad to watch co-mgrs. Sit in the office all day. Laughing, talking, eating lunch. The only time they move is if they get a phone call corporate is coming, or they know they are coming. Team leads run the show.

Evidently you guys work in a club that apparently has issues and no structure from the club manager to hold its assistant managers accountable for there actions. Team leads close once a week in our club and are valued, closing team leads are responsible for helping support close to open procedures making sure each area is zoned to ensure a smooth transition for the night crew. Managers in our building are working managers who help stock and zone areas of the store and don’t sit around in the office.

Absolutely agree!!!!!

One more thing, they are never on time. They all cover for each other, because they are guilty of it.

Closing is pointless for team leads. You cannot accomplish any of your projects, stock what night crew missed, or even do reports. If you have even remotely competent closers the TLs should be opening and planning out changes for transitions. Not following up on zoning so the managers can sit on their a--.
