Got laid off on the 11th of november and although I got a nice check to leave, I felt like i had gotten to apposition where i could retired from, after years of dealing with the retail store's . here i go 35 and starting all over again. so much for seniority . this is where a Union could come and help you.

Remember the fear of wasting the Union fees??? That and other such lines most of you happily grabbed and ran with, and wasted all your paychecks assuming you also had a pension to retire on??
You obviously don’t have a clue. Overseas call centers and local contractors have taken over the duties of many Union members.
i have not heard any union vz people saying someone from india took my job..that is not a coincidence...
People on here bashing the OP for being anti union are scared $hitless their own entitled union jobs will end. Verizon will break the union it's days are numbered. Landline Telco will go the way of the steam engine.
Don't even think the union would help you newer guys. The union needs you as a buffer so the more senior guys can keep their jobs. You get to be the sacrificial lambs
So I'm not the OP but I must say that I started with the wireless side in 2005 well before Verizon brought us all under one roof. Anyway, leadership always made unionizing sound like the worst thing in the world. I was lead to believe that even mentioning the word union would get you fired. I got into management (they approached me for the promotion) and had to go to union awareness trainings where my previous fears were confirmed. Anytime ANYONE mentioned the word UNION for any reason we were to call HR or be terminated ourselves for failing to report it. I am more than positive that many people in on the wireless side know this. I live in Upstate NY and many others that I have worked with over the years would have loved to have been part of the union. Granted managers wouldn't be able to vote for a union but none of the non-management were ever offered an opportunity to vote for a union either. So don't sit there and say "you voted NO" and don't assume that everyone in wireless was anti-union because many weren't and still aren't. It's the upper management and the long history of fear and scare tactics by them. When we bought out the Vodafone share and seen that we were all coming under one roof many of us were excited. Excited because we thought we would finally be able to join the union without fear. Something has got to change. All of this wireline vs wireless sh!t is for the birds and yet is probably exactly what the executives want. We need to stopping fighting with each other and start fighting back against the idiots that are destroying what was once a great company.
The Union warned you of this very day......The company told you to vote no because they have your best interest in mind. The Union told you.....they are lying.....you voted no to the Union.

You didnt want a union ,and you thought you were better than union members ,now with no job security ,look what it got you..so you have to just move on ,cause crying here is not going to get your job back,verizon does not care anybody,unless your on the top of the food chain,we are all just a number here....
