CWA hasn't distributed contract books?, well, well, nor has IBEW21 (Illinois) whom I have been paying union dues to for 24 years and we just had a cable splicer in my garage with 3 weeks less seniority be notified he was surplused. The union could care less about contract books because they. along with the agreement of AT&T can re-write anything to appease "their" causes. This is nothing more than pathetic arrogance AND ignorance. to any reading....just remember....it has all been designed to FAIL.
@QKY46h4-cfg I always understood the company printed the new contract books and bears the cost. The union only reviews to make sure that haven’t omitted anything. But if you don’t have a contract book you need to be asking the company what the hold up is not your union rep.
ATT cares about profits and bonuses at the top only. They make every decision based upon that.
Hence the reason CWA has not even distributed the new contract book in the West.... because they KNEW ALL along that this would happen. Lying union rep claims they are still "proof reading it"... REALLY? with all this modern technology you're thumbing through each page with a thimble?????
Dtv techs and managers are cheap labor. We all know what AT&T really cares about and that is profits
CWA fights for techs...just not prem tech. They are temp employees and now that U-verse is not growing it’s time to reduce the temp workers.
Sad thing it's only original ATT techs. No one from DTV is being touched. It was bad enough they allowed DTV to carry their seniority over with this new garbage contract in CA and immediately take effect. CWA has failed it's own original members and now we are paying for it. It's a shame. We all knew this was coming but not so soon. It seems they are going to train the DTV techs on our jobs and in the process let all of us Prem Techs go. Then core will be surplused due to no work then more of us will be layed off to make room for them. We can thank AT&T for not caring and again thank CWA for not fighting for its members. No strike, weak bargaining, and lies for a year and a half for garbage. Good job guys.
i have sadly learned this also, 20+ year employee didn’t start this way but has evolved this way, you do take the bad with the good, good pay benefits pension etc but the mental anguish of constant beat downs no praise for good old fashion hard work just recognition for faults can consume anyone.
A week before Christmas despite record profits, 1 billion dollars a month, and multi billion dollar acquisitions. ATT doesn't care about you or your family.
