Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T

AT&T has been cutting pay for its Retail Sales Consultants (RSC) for 3 years now. They have been posting record profits yet lay off other jobs and pass it to us to do without any pay increase. The crazy things is that they make us work more and more for less pay. So the word has it that this coming year AT&T Mobility in San Antonio will be closing all but 5 stores that are corporate owned. They will then turn the others into authorized retailers. If folks have ever dealt with a authorized retailer you know how bad they are. That is where things are going so they can boost their profits. I guess instead of innovation they choose mass firings as a way to increase their shareholder value. Pretty sad but you don't see Randall or any other executive taking pay cuts and such just bonuses and raises. I am pretty sure the company runs on our backs but they seem to feel they are the money makers. Lots more to say but this goes nowhere so its only venting lol.

Sale more premium tv your store stays open, dont sale premium and it will get sold to AR. At&t is not gonna keep a store under COR if all it can offer is phone sales. Phone sales dont pay the lease. Even customers have figured out how to take advantage of BoGo offers.

I can confirm COR slamming customers. Director and VPs look the other way and use the RSCs that slam as role models to compare other RSCs sales results too. Now the legit RSCs feel the pressure to slam. Store managers feel the pressure and just look the other way to keep their jobs.

Don't worry; tax "relief" is on the way. The store RSC's will see a $100 decrease in taxes while Randall and his banditos get millions.

Put your $100 into a good meal out one night.

T is too concerned with DTV. They doubled the commissions paid out to AR's for DTV and cut cellular commissions in half. Upper management in their infinite wisdom thought that would create more DTV sales. It didn't. The guys at Spring and Prime get promoted based upon how many DTV sales they do. What they do is slam and lie to people in order to get that sale. They get promoted quickly and are moved to another store. The guys who are honest, know DTV is a bomb, and do the right thing for customers move onto other companies. The previous store now has to deal with what the "Successful" sales people did. It's an evil cycle. And guess where they learned that culture from, COR. Spring was up 1400 stores and now down to 1200 and has plans on cutting more. And the reason COR gets paid more is because the check you write out to AT&T goes towards your salary, benefits and overhead. Getting rid of COR will increase profits for Randy and friends. They'll be long gone before the Sh--s the fan. Before you state personal thoughts know that facts.

When they switch it all to AR and see their business ran into the ground we will be laughing in the end. They will bring back corporate stores. Also the stores aren't poor profit margins they just aren't as lucrative compared to when you pay people in peanuts. They blow lots of money on companies and services that aren't benefiting them. Cricket, directv, digital life. Because of those bad decisions It trickles downward to where they feel the need to cut the RSC position because all we are is human capital. They do not consider us a necessity to keeping the profit coming they see themselves as the profit makers without them actually putting their boots in the ground to see how sh--ty a company they are turning into

It's not every AR that's bad. The big guys like Spring and Prime are problems. T wants them run like COR which results in poor profit margins. They force employees to commit fraud just to keep their jobs. As an AR of over15 years I've made a living building a reputation of being better than COR. I have 2 COR stores in a 5 mile radius of me. They have reps who claim to have over 100 premium video sales per month. Yet every customer that come to me from them have been victims of fraud and slamming.
