Sorry( bah). But Actually( pwa) situation would be way be if there were retirements. Because then there would be less people which in turn would make him a little more needed and less likely to be layed off. But as for moving up the seniority list until they hire more people he is gonna stay where he is

@pwa, please explain your logic. Hypothetically, if no one were to be hired after you, how exactly would your statement make sense? Retirements do not appear to better your situation but, rather, makes less of a pool of people to choose from.

I’m in jersey and we do have an overtime list. The only thing seniority gets you is the top two picks for vacation. Everything else was s a level playing field. Seniority isn’t what it used to be.

@pwa must be wireless....because that’s not how it works in wireline. We go by the overtime list and the schedule rotates so everyone gets weekends. That’s one of the perks for being in a union.

And thats it. Retire already if you can so the rest of us can actually move up the damned seniority list because the truth is if youre lowest 50% in your work station youre garbage.. Youre the first forced, forced to a different city to work, first to work all weekends and holidays.
