November 16 is the RIF date given to me by my director.
He said layoffs will be between 15 and 20% depends on which department.
30 engineers were already advised. He said we are too top-heavy and management. Some departments will be doing volunteers others will not. He told me to get my resume ready.
I wouldn't say 'Rumor' but fact. Yes, it is happening and in a big way-10- 20%. Buckle up and enjoy the $hitshow 11-16! My problem is post-rif. My group is stretched so thin now that I can only imagine how hard my job will be if I do not get the nod. It almost make me want to 'volunteer' for this one.
Seeing odd requests by managers today asking to make sure timesheets are submitted today because of month-end close. What a bunch of idiots...at least make your lies less retarded....month-end close happens in the middle of the month? More like they need timesheets in before layoff week.
Wireline on 11/4 was esip for non mgmt employees only. Rif for mgmt employees that is coming on 11/16
Voluntary rifs in wireline are already completed. Last day on payroll was Saturday 11/4 for some people.
