Hey Lowell...I mean OP, what kind of dip$hit question is "why so much negativity" on a layoff site? If you want "positivity" then go on VZWeb and read all the brainwashing bull$hit on there about how great Verizon is. A company that lies cheats and steals from employees and customers alike.

I have seen so many good employees and some bad ones, laid off in the past two years it makes my head spin. Leadership is throwing the front line under the bus to try and cover up it's years of bad decision making and to try and keep precious share holders happy.

And where do you get $300,000? Do you think this site exclusively has VP's and ED's posting on here?

You are a complete idiot. Fu© off!

When I was laid, my manager called me at home while I was getting ready to go to work. Another coworker was on vacation and they called him. Before that happened everyone was scared to death of getting any kind of phone call. It was a very toxic environment.

What departments in wireless are being laid off? And what positions in retail stores?

T Minus 7 days and counting. Get your needed files off your computer, update your resume's, print out whatever you need hard copies of, start cleaning out the work area. Be ready so you are not blindsided when they haul you in to the managers office. Good Luck!

if you work in Wireless and aren’t upset about the state of things in 2017, you aren’t paying attention. things are getting worse, people are unhappy, workloads are doubling or tripling. Verizon is starving its frontline.

But you're still paid, right? What's all this acting like somehow the company pulled something over you. Give it a rest you poor little victim who is so put out because he's being asked to do his job.

Work in HQ, you get paid for 40 hours and are expected to work 50 or 60. Lots of negativity after watching leadership squander money and push hopelessly optimistic business plans that never pay off. Quality talent is either retiring or leaving the company, and that only gets worse after the next layoff when the people holding out for a severance exit realize that they aren't going to get one this round and have to choose between another year of having to do even more for no extra money or getting the f--k out.

I am the OP so let me explain. I just dont know why you all seem so unhappy. Most of you, especially in the Northeast, and West, are making $350,000 figuring in salary and benefits. I'm just in shock, and im not an SM, just a first level somewhere in america...

That is business,we have to do what we have to do,top of the line comes before the employees,,we have to please the major share holders, dont take it personal

The negativity is because nobody has figured out where cheese station N is yet. Growth in task volume counts as growth.

Yep, about half as much as we did when we started for doing about twice as much work. At a company that promised us a growing career.
