Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon Retail “Sales” the NEW used car “sales people”

There are no “sales” people in retail any longer, just corrupt individuals who have zero morals or values. This does not only pertain to “sales” people but there SM’s GM’s and DM’s.

The company is WELL aware of what’s going on in the consumer market and the lack of actual sustainable growth. Consumers are also not fools, however the elderly and small business market is currently under attack to create “growth”. This will only last for so long and perhaps if there is in fact layoffs, this is the beginning of that change the company desperately needs to make.

Verizon is by no means any different than other companies that have committed unethical practices to continue to survive, this is how it’s done in America, it’s the way the world turns, the American way.

To be fair, there are a few good people left who do what’s wrong to keep there job, and great people who do what right, unfortunately this company cannot afford to keep good or great individuals any longer. Being a great employee is no longer good enough

And that’s why they’re managers not leaders. My time with Verizon I only really truly met 3 leaders the rest were managers. Again though it all starts at the top and Mcadam isn’t really a leader at all

@sss... My store manager will take the iPads from us if we are not selling what and how he wants us to sell. We will be banned from selling the remainder of the day. It’s ridiculous.

I am a salesperson at a corporate store and I am staying ethical. It is difficult because if one of my managers catches me selling ethically they take me to the back to “coach” me for an hour, or force me to do open enrollment calls in the back for hours. They’re intentionally reducing my time on the sales floor to hurt my numbers so that when the time comes they can fire me.

It s---s but I can’t, I’m good conscience, make my paycheck off of scamming old people.

Reps are being directed from top down to be shady. We are told to be incredibly misleading with worksheets and if our sheets arent done correctly we are put on corrective action. I dont care how good of a sales person you are, nobody can ethically sell 20 hums in a month.

Strange thing is though that last time I called employee customer service to increase my data plan, my monthly bill got lower. Unexpected but fine by me.

Nothing is ever “free”

You never have to buy anything to lower your bill

You never get a phone with a bunch of useless crap as a package

A real sales person doesn’t need to do any of that to make a sale or to up sell. You pull sh-- like this you have no business in sales and deserve the karma that’s coming your way.

Both direct and indirect are more corrupt than ever. After being let go, I like to mystery shop them and see what verbiage they use. Nothing but smoke and mirrors

Work in a store for a week, see how the slammers, stackers, and " you get this for free" while lowering your bill do their job everyday and see the not involved "Management team" don't do their job everyday. Their pathetic !

Ha! Reading the OP the first thing I thought of was one of the Managers in Wireless Network where I work. The first thing anyone does when this person walks into a room is check their wallets. Real swarmy used car dealer type. Total gambler-holic and alleged serial adulterer. Has their Director and ED totally snowed..or just has dirt on them. Either way, a total waste of a cubicle.

Verizon fired all the good, ethical employees long ago. There are just rats left on a sinking ship...
