Unfortunately, value, degrees, certifications, good ratings have nothing to do with it, just luck and timing. If that was the case, a lot of us would still be there.

I've seen too many HiPo people walk out the door to believe this narrative.
I’ve seen too many talented people exit the company to believe this company gives a sh-- about their value. These were employees with technical degrees that, like many others have said here, are now making more outside this company.
If you do bring a lot of value to the table and are a leading expert in networking and automation, you'll also be shown the door. Especially if you have an engineering degree. It's over for you then...
