Can you tell me what happens when you are suspended with pay here at Verizon? Do you know how are they allowed to keep you in this status (suspended, but paid)? Also, do you know, while I am suspended, am I going to be allowed to keep my health care benefits and if yes for how long (have a chronic disease, I have to have health care).

Depends on the outcome of the investigation. If the employee is found to have been wrong it could lead to termination depending on the offense. It could also be a final written or nothing at all. Depends on the offense and what the employee is accused of.
What's next? Termination...
In retail I've seen people suspended with pay while an investigation is ongoing. Benefits still apply and will only cease if you are fired.
Never heard of such. Cell service yes. From school, yes. Prison....no.
wait...did you say suspended with pay? Which part of VZ are you in, all suspensions in our neck of the woods are 60 days with no pay for 6 minutes of misuse of company time.. yes that is what our managers have resorted to to somehow maybe save themselves from a rif..
Base pay + benefits until they can get you on Long Term Disability insurance coverage, check with HR.
If your union talk to your rep. They can explain.
Do not have experience here but I think that as long as you're not off payroll you have VZ benefits.
