Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Wake up

there are things worth whining about! A certain amount of whining allows for some venting of reasonable pain, disappointment, fear, frustration, or frank rage. However, staying stuck in whining mode can become a life-long problem.

, "No matter what you've suffered or continue to suffer, while you are alive you have the opportunity to get something from this life,." : If you don't like your life, quit talking about your unhappiness and try to fix it, no matter how difficult or impossible your situation seems.

While it is healthy to vent occasionally, endless rumination on the negative only keeps you paralyzed in misery, reinforces hopelessness, and demoralizes those around you who feel helpless to bring any happiness into your life. Instead, Stop Whining, Start Living encourages "whiners" to reject negative thoughts, emotions, and attitudes; shift perspective; open up to gratitude and goodness; and embrace obligations to loved ones and the world in general. Before long, just doing what you're supposed to be doing—instead of moaning about why you can't or won't or shouldn't fulfill your responsibilities—will have you feeling better about yourself and will uplift your interactions with family, friends, colleagues, and even complete strangers in incredible ways,

Smart employees should understand that negative posts don't just reflect poorly on the companies, they reflect poorly on them, but we all need to understand that all companies are looking for other type of workers, those technologically advanced. this is not limited to AT&T, considering the size of this company, I suggest start looking for a job ASAP and , really bad mouthing the company does not achieve a thing

Here's the deal. I was in the same boat as you. Then I went out and did something about it. Nobody is forcing you to work at AT&T. Go find another job and be happy. If you don't have the skills for a new job, that is on you. If you put years into AT&T and didn't take advantage of any of the benefits offered to you to benefit yourself, you just got complacent.

You realize:

Some won't be able to keep their home.

Some won't be able to afford medical treatment.

Some will be brought to financial ruin.

Some will plummet into depression.

Some will suffer severe anxiety.

Some will be unable to provide for their children.

These aren't freeloaders, lazy people who don't want to work. These are people who want to keep their jobs.

And don't claim that it's of their own doing...most of us are one lost job, or 1 medical emergency away from ruin.

You have the opportunity to learn compassion, I suggest you seize it with vigor and enthusiasm.

I wouldn't describe fear of job loss and a ruined life as "whining" Your insensitivity speaks volumes.
