2 weeks have passed since rumors about 5000 layoffs. Complete silence on the topic since then, barring that one posting about the 3PAR layoffs in Ireland. Did the financial website that reported this get bad intelligence?
The rumor sure seems to have benefited the stock holders though since the stock price has gone up very significantly

How do you know what the numbers are and what future dates for layoffs
Looks like this past Monday there were just a few layoffs but not in numbers people were expecting. That puts Oct 23 as the day when a substantial layoff will hit. Then again another round at the end of Q1 towards last week of Jan 2018.
May just be rumors. I would have expected to hear something from our overseas teams by now.
Some think one round on Oct 16 and another round on Oct 23.

If two weeks notice is provided as it has been in the past, October 16 would be the date. Some have been pre-notified (in EG in channel sales, sales, leaders above managers mostly there and in other areas, AMS including Canada). Some gone last week. Looks like mainly a layer removing effort.

If we look at the past graduation classes (WFR's), my money is Monday, October 16, 2017. With a few stragglers up until Wendsday, October 18, 2017. With the 10 business days to clean out your desk, that has everyone out by the end of October. Take it from someone who has been out about 9 months now, it's most likely the best outcome. Retire, or moving on it's better than being stuck in HPE. Good Luck to All!

They're spreading them out. Laying people off takes a lot of HR resources, there's only so many they can do in a given week.
From all the comments in this thread, I think they will wait until last week of October. That would mean a big hit coming on Monday 23 Oct.
They will squeeze everything out of the workforce to make Q4 numbers. Then the hammer will drop. Watch and see.
The end of fiscal year is October 31st. So the last week of October or the first week of November are the dates most likely the layoffs will be announced.
Be patient they will happen soon enough.
They are probably using these leaks to minimize the shock effect in the media when the layoff waves come rolling in later. There is also the stock boost effect as mentioned in previous posts.
3PAR in AMS too. It's a ashame that corporate leaks this sh-- to bump stocks then goes silent. Kills morale.

I have heard of one last week and know of a group that was prenotified. Won't share group names since they are easily identified if I do.
