Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

A Rhetorical Question

Friends - what did you think as you are leaving for good or watching others leave at&t?

After staring blankly into your own thoughts wondering how it has all gone so bizarrely wrong, getting yelled at by your spouse, looking at your kids, worrying about your bills and finances, getting drunk, chain smoking, firing up that sweet doobie, then post your thoughts here.

That is, after your have completely cleared out your head from the anger, bitterness and betrayal you might be feeling at the moment!!!

What do you feel now? What do you think now?

I resigned...it's been 8 weeks, I took another job. My new job is a whole different ballgame the at&t. It pays half of what I made but in a few years will pay the same and eventually more. At first I was having regrets, until I met 2 ex coworkers for lunch and they informed me of the pending definite layoffs coming to xo many people. I don't regrety decision to resign now. After 7 tears of device it hard to start over. Better to do it now while I'm still in my early 40s

After almost twenty years, all I want to know is that I will make it to retirement before the fickle finger selects my team to be outsourced so some SVP can get brownie points for a little more cost-cutting. Quantity or quality of work is no longer meaningful to the beancounters.

I lost all hope. I am not in a happy place. But, I will keep fighting no matter what.

I will figure out something.

Note: 7 months unemployed, hard to find a decent paying job

We are no longer citizens, we are consumers. We are no longer respected workers, we are expendable, We are no longer Humans, Robots and automation are our replacements, thinking LONG term? Prepare yourself to be working until the day will die, it is not matter of hope.

My wife doesn't yell at me. I pay my bills and have zero debt because I was a good steward of my finances. This only applies to those who s---😊. Which is clearly true because they are the ones being ousted.
